Electing 33 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Tra Vinh Provincial Labor Federation for the 11th term, 2023 term

Provincial leaders attended the second working session of the congress.

Attending the congress were comrades: Thai Thu Xuong, National Assembly Delegate of the 15th tenure, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Do Hong Van, member of the Presidium, Head of the Women's Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; leaders of the Labor Confederations of Long An, An Giang, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Tien Giang provinces...

On the side of Tra Vinh province, there were comrades: Ngo Chi Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the XVth term of Tra Vinh province; Kim Ngoc Thai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Lam Minh Dang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, provincial leaders, the Provincial Federation of Labor through the periods; leaders of departments, branches, units, localities and 246 delegates representing over 59,000 union members in the whole province.

During the past term, with the close leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the attention and facilitation of the government, the solidarity and efforts of the staff, civil servants, public employees, and workers, trade union activities in the province have achieved important results, achieving and exceeding 9/10 targets set out in the resolution.

Over the past 5 years, the province has established 52 new grassroots unions and trade unions, admitted 38,623 new members, reaching 257.49% of the target; introduced 4,614 outstanding members for the Party to consider and admit.

There are 17,200 topics, initiatives and 943 projects and products with a value of billions of VND. Support, construction and repair of 417 "Union Shelters" with nearly 16 billion VND; approve investment in 23 economic development projects, sign 32 cooperation agreements with partners to provide products, services and goods for over 93,000 union members and workers to benefit; over 103,000 union members and workers were visited and given gifts by unions at all levels, with a total cost of nearly 28 billion VND...

Delegates voted to approve the list of candidates to elect the new Executive Committee.

The patriotic emulation movements of the trade union were widely deployed, continuing to innovate in content and form, closely following reality. Propaganda work was innovated with rich and diverse forms. Implementing the movement to build a grassroots cultural life among workers, civil servants, and laborers; organizing many sports and competitions attracting thousands of union members and laborers to participate...

Speaking at the congress, comrade Thai Thu Xuong highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of Tra Vinh province's trade unions at all levels during the past term.

Comrade Thai Thu Xuong, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, gave a speech directing the congress.

In the coming term, comrade Thai Thu Xuong suggested that all levels of Tra Vinh provincial trade unions continue to focus on effectively implementing Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW, dated June 12, 2021 of the Politburo on innovation of organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Unions in the new situation, the Action Program of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party in accordance with the characteristics of the province.

Focus on performing well the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, workers and laborers; promote the negotiation and signing of labor agreements; implement democratic regulations in agencies, units and enterprises; proactively inspect, examine and supervise the implementation of regimes and policies related to laborers; grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and laborers. Promote patriotic emulation movements among union members and laborers with the goal of "productivity, quality and efficiency". Speaking at the congress, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lam Minh Dang affirmed that during the past term, the activities of the Tra Vinh provincial trade union had many positive changes, especially in innovating the content and methods of operation.

Trade union work and the movement of workers, civil servants and laborers have achieved many important results, better meeting the legitimate needs and aspirations of union members and laborers. Trade union organizations are increasingly consolidated and developed; the quality of trade union cadres is gradually improved.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lam Minh Dang directed: Trade unions at all levels continue to implement and concretize the policies and resolutions of the Central and Provincial Party Committees related to trade union activities, especially the tasks stated in the Resolution of the 11th Tra Vinh Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, which is: "Trade unions at all levels promote propaganda, education, improve political capacity, expertise, professional skills, industrial style, labor discipline. Care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers. Build harmonious, stable and progressive relationships in enterprises".

Trade unions at all levels must be more aware of their functions and roles in caring for, representing, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers. Trade union organizations must truly be a reliable support for union members and workers. Trade unions at all levels must proactively advise party committees, coordinate more closely with authorities, professional agencies at the same level, and business owners to set appropriate, practical, feasible, and effective goals, targets, and solutions to promote the movement of workers and civil servants for rapid and sustainable economic and social development.

Continue to maintain, launch and improve the quality of patriotic emulation movements in trade unions at all levels. Regularly innovate the content and form of propaganda, suitable to the practical situation at the grassroots level, close to the needs of union members and the qualifications of workers. Improve the effectiveness of forecasting, grasping the thoughts and aspirations of workers, civil servants and laborers. Pay attention to orienting information on the internet and social networks.

Further innovate the way to attract and gather union members; focus on building a strong and comprehensive union organization. Union activities must closely follow the leadership and direction of Party committees, authorities and political tasks of localities, agencies and units; must originate from the legitimate needs of the majority of workers, civil servants and laborers according to the motto "Where workers are in difficulty, there is a union". The results at the grassroots level and the participation of union members are the measure to evaluate union activities.

With a spirit of democracy, wisdom, and high responsibility, at the second working session, the Congress elected 33 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, term XI, 2023 - 2028. This afternoon (October 10), the Congress held its closing session.
