"The Road to Glory"
The eternal glory of the Vietnamese nation is forged from the glory of struggles for independence, self-determination, and self-control over the nation's destiny, as well as the right to life, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness for all human beings. In that thousand-year history, the nearly century since the Communist Party of Vietnam stepped onto the political stage seems to have "compressed" all the harsh challenges the nation has faced and also gathered all the glory from the nation's inception.
The noble mission entrusted to the Party by history is to lead our nation and our people through two turbulent and glorious eras: the era of national independence linked with socialism, liberating the Vietnamese people from the shackles of slavery and making them an independent and self-reliant nation; and the era of comprehensive reform, transforming Vietnam from a poor country among the world's "top" nations into a model of development and stability. This great achievement can be explained based on thousands of arguments and evidence. However, the most compelling and fundamental argument is that "the Party belongs to the people, is by the people, relies on the people, and is for the people," and is the only and most correct choice of history to shoulder this historical mission and make history. And the most powerful evidence for this fundamental argument is the immense achievements in national potential and position that have been and continue to exist over more than 95 years of the Party's leadership of the revolutionary cause.
Through two eras of building a solid and proud foundation, the 14th National Congress marks a new historical turning point: Under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese nation confidently advances strongly in the era of self-improvement - the era of developing the country to a high and comprehensive level.
If the Sixth Congress was groundbreaking, the Fourteenth Congress continues to affirm its leading role. Given the special significance and historical importance of this congress, the documents of the Fourteenth Congress were meticulously, seriously, rigorously, scientifically , and modernly developed. At the same time, they reflect the character, wisdom, and aspirations of the entire Party and people for a prosperous future for the nation. As General Secretary To Lam emphasized, the documents "inherit the essence of previous congresses, steadfastly upholding principled viewpoints; while clearly demonstrating a strong renewal of thinking on development, closely adhering to reality, respecting objective laws; every assessment, every goal, every solution stems from reality."
The most comprehensive and overarching argument regarding the direction of national development in the new era is encapsulated in the theme of the Congress: "Under the glorious banner of the Party, we will work together to successfully achieve the national development goals by 2030; achieving strategic autonomy, self-reliance, self-confidence, and strong progress in the era of national advancement for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, civilization, happiness, and steadily advancing towards socialism." The theme of the 14th National Congress contains profound theoretical value and immense practical value. On the one hand, it reflects the political orientation, strategic vision, and aspiration for national development to a new level; on the other hand, it deeply reflects the humanistic and noble values of national development: placing people at the center – both as the goal and the driving force; taking the quality of life, satisfaction, and happiness of the people as the highest measure of all development.
If the theme serves as a guiding principle, then the motto acts as a compass for action. The 14th National Congress adopted "Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development" as its consistent motto. This is because unity is the root; democracy is the foundation of strength; discipline is the pillar; breakthrough is the driving force; and development is both the measure and the destination.
However, no matter how ambitious the goals and how high the expectations, without correct policies, strategic breakthroughs, and firm steps, they will not be easily realized. Therefore, "This document sets forth the requirement for action: words must match deeds; clearly define goals, tasks, and solutions; link responsibility with results; link breakthroughs with sustainability; link implementation discipline with the satisfaction of the people" (General Secretary To Lam). This resolute spirit is most clearly demonstrated through the Action Program for implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress - a program considered a "breakthrough" compared to previous congresses, because it clearly identifies the "subjects, roadmap, resources, and destination" for implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress.

"The road to glory" is not just a wide, open highway; it also includes many rapids, winding turns, and even deep ravines that leave no room for error. If glory in the journey of defending the nation must be paid for with countless blood, bones, and tears, then let glory in the journey of building the nation be "paved" with the flowers of hard work, intelligence, courage, determination, steadfastness, and faith.
"Unwavering faith in the banner"
The Communist Party of Vietnam is the central hub that unites the strength, will, aspirations, and faith of the entire nation. This truth has been proven through over 95 years of practice, with the miracles that created the glorious Ho Chi Minh era. The inherent goodness of our Party, along with its correct leadership and especially its noble mission of "Uniting the entire people, serving the Fatherland," has become the great "banner" that unites the people's hearts, strength, spirit, and power for the revolutionary cause.
Under the banner of the Party's determination to overthrow the shackles of colonialism and feudalism, our nation rose up in rebellion, turning the tide of the nation and laying the foundation for the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, of the people, by the people, and for the people. Under the Party's banner of decisive victory, of fighting to the death for the Fatherland, the entire nation marched to the battlefield, turning Dien Bien Phu into the graveyard of all the ambitions of French colonialism. Under the Party's banner of "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom," our nation embarked on a protracted resistance war against the most powerful empire in the world. And then, the strength of righteousness, patriotism, and the aspiration for independence and national unity once again brought glory to our nation. Under the banner of reform initiated and led by our Party, the entire nation embarked on a protracted war against poverty, stagnation, blockade, and embargo, to rebuild the country's foundation, potential, position, and international prestige.
While proud of our tremendous and historically significant achievements, we cannot afford to rest on our laurels. Alongside the objective challenges of a rapidly changing and unprecedentedly complex world order, moving towards a multipolar, multi-centered, multi-layered, fragmented, and highly stratified world, the internal difficulties of our socio-economic system are also considerable, even more severe and serious than in previous periods. The overarching threat is the risk of falling behind, especially in technology, and falling into the middle-income trap. This further demands the capacity, courage, and unwavering determination of the leadership – the Communist Party of Vietnam – and the ability to unite the strength of national solidarity as a foundation for the country's strong progress in this era of self-improvement. Recognizing this immense responsibility to the nation and its people, the 14th National Congress elected the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the General Secretary. The people are placing high expectations on the new collective and leadership core, hoping that they will be individuals with sufficient virtue, talent, integrity, vision, courage, dedication, responsibility, and the courage to confront challenges, innovate, and be creative in order to shoulder the heavy responsibilities entrusted to them by history.

In reality, the revolutionary strategic decisions, decisively implemented and led by our Party in recent times, are raising many new issues and demanding higher standards. However, this also represents a new turning point and a new historical opportunity for the cause of national construction, development, and defense in the new era. This further requires a genuine breakthrough in thinking and vision, and a new approach in leadership and governance to foster development. The people expect that, with the spirit of "Discipline and responsibility; proactive and timely action; streamlined and efficient; accelerated breakthroughs" and the mindset of "looking far ahead, thinking deeply, and doing big things," and "valuing time, intellect, and timely decisive action," the Government will quickly concretize the decisions, goals, and solutions in the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress into impressive and tangible growth figures.
Ultimately, the goal of our nation in this era of progress is a prosperous and civilized country, where the people are well-fed and happy. In this context, the happiness of the people is paramount and the measure of all policy decisions. This is entirely consistent with our national traditions, ethics, and the path of national development. For Vietnam, "the people are the foundation," therefore, only when "the people are the foundation" can no difficulty be overcome and no enemy be defeated!

The era of national resurgence has been outlined in grand strokes through the theme of the 14th National Congress. However, upon reflection, it seems that this era was conceived and spurred on by the countless aspirations of Phu Dong Thien Vuong, who liberated the nation from foreign shackles. At the same time, it is also the inheritance of the aspiration to "extend the nation's destiny - build a prosperous era," a foundation laid by the founding king of the Ly Dynasty more than 1,000 years ago... Therefore, the era of Vietnamese national resurgence today will be supported by the wings of a thousand-year legacy and a proud national position, by faith in a prosperous future and the aspiration for a "stable and prosperous nation," a confident and proud mindset, and a readiness to face challenges. And so, hidden within the "golden hues of a thousand years" of a glorious historical tradition and a rich cultural identity, will be the "red hues of the future" of an entire nation united in its efforts to march forward under the glorious banner of the Party, with unwavering and sacred faith: the Fatherland is "as solid as a rock," the land is a tapestry of beauty, the country prospers, the nation endures, and the people are happy!
