Closing ceremony of basic journalism skills training course

On April 18, the Center for Journalism Training of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Representative Office of the Vietnam Journalists Association in Ho Chi Minh City held the closing ceremony of the first basic journalism and communication skills training course in 2023.

Journalist Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the South, spoke at the closing ceremony.

Attending the closing ceremony were journalist Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the South, journalist Nguyen Thi Hai Van - Director of the Center for Journalism Training, along with leaders of professional units of the representative office of the Vietnam Journalists Association in Ho Chi Minh City, journalists who are lecturers and 50 students of the course.

Students gave flowers to thank the class organizers

Journalist Tran Trong Dung highly appreciated the serious learning spirit of the students and the dedication of the lecturers over the past month. The lecturers imparted a lot of knowledge and skills to help the students grasp the basic principles in performing journalism genres; using equipment in journalism activities.

Journalist Tran Trong Dung awarded certificates of merit to students with good academic results.

The Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association hopes that after the course, the trainees will return to their work units and promote the knowledge they have learned, contributing to bringing high efficiency in information communication work.

The training course lasted from March 21 to April 13 with 16 sessions. Students were trained in basic skills such as: exploiting information on the Internet; writing news and setting titles; interviewing; writing reports; creating information pages/electronic newspapers; filming, practicing clip editing; taking photos, processing photos on cameras and mobile phones; press relations and media crisis handling skills; journalistic ethics and rules of conduct on social networks; writing press releases and PR articles, organizing press conferences.

Students participating in the class are those who are working and collaborating at press agencies; doing communication work, organizing events at local agencies and units.

At the closing ceremony, the Vietnam Journalists Association Journalism Training Center awarded certificates to 50 students who completed the course.
