Closing of the 10th Theoretical Workshop between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party

On December 20, in Quang Ninh province, the 10th Theoretical Workshop between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party with the theme "Developing culture and people in the process of national development towards socialism - Experience of Vietnam, experience of Laos" closed and was a great success.

Member of the Politburo , Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Head of the Delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Thang presented a report with the theme "The Communist Party of Vietnam leads the development of culture and people in the process of developing the country in the direction of socialism".

Mr. Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister , Head of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Delegation presented a report on the topic "Developing culture and people in the process of developing the country in the direction of socialism, lessons learned from Laos".

At the discussion sessions, leaders, theorists and scientists of the two Parties presented 10 reports, focusing on the most important and essential issues of cultural and human development in Vietnam and Laos, such as: the process of developing the awareness of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the position and role of culture and the human factor in the cause of national renewal; developing high-quality human resources to meet the needs of socialist development; developing culture in a synchronous and harmonious manner with economic growth and progress, social justice - a fundamental orientation of the process of building socialism; building and developing comprehensive human beings, reviving social ethics, building a system of human values and Vietnamese culture; institutionalizing the Party's guidelines, viewpoints and policies on cultural development, human development into laws and specific, feasible policies; Culture associated with economic development in Laos...

The reports at the workshop were exchanged and discussed enthusiastically by both sides, and analyzed in depth the current situation and solutions of each country, thereby clarifying a number of urgent theoretical and practical issues of mutual concern to both countries.

The discussions also emphasized the Party's key role in leading the country, highlighting the Party's pioneering role in leading the work of cultural and human development in the renovation process in Vietnam and Laos. The two sides affirmed that after nearly 40 years of implementing the comprehensive renovation policy, Vietnam and Laos have achieved great and historic achievements.

These achievements prove that the Party's innovation policy is correct and creative, and the path to socialism is consistent with the objective laws and practices of the Vietnamese and Lao revolutions, and consistent with the trend of the times.

Among them, Party building is the key, socio-economic development is the central task, cultural development is the spiritual foundation, and ensuring security and national defense is an important and regular task.

However, the practice of the renovation process also shows that besides the achievements and positive aspects, there are still shortcomings and limitations. Many practical issues require the two Parties and two countries to continue to research, supplement and perfect theories, including the issue of cultural and human development.

The conference has profound theoretical and practical significance. The research results of scientists presented and discussed at the conference contribute to enriching the theoretical treasure of both sides, helping theoretical research agencies of Vietnam and Laos improve the quality and effectiveness of their advisory work on planning guidelines, policies, and strategies as well as in practical guidance on the issue of cultural and human development, contributing to the successful implementation of the Congress Resolution of each Party and the success of the renovation process in each country. The two sides agreed that the 11th Theoretical Conference will be held in the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
