Christian Alshon, one of the most talented young players in pickleball, has officially made history by surpassing the legendary Ben Johns to claim the number one spot on the DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) men's singles rankings.

Alshon’s rise is underpinned by impressive rankings numbers. He currently leads the men’s singles with a DUPR of 7,124, ahead of Ben Johns on 6,987. This is a significant milestone, marking the end of an era of dominance and the beginning of a new chapter for professional pickleball.
Alshon’s all-round performance is not only evident in his singles performances, but also in his rankings in other prestigious tournaments. He is currently ranked 4th in men’s doubles on the DUPR rankings and is in the top of the PPA Tour – the world’s most prestigious professional pickleball tour – with a ranking of 4th in men’s singles and 6th in men’s doubles.
Christian Alshon’s rise to the top is not only a personal triumph, but also a testament to the strong development of the young pickleball generation. With impressive achievements in both singles and doubles, Alshon is gradually proving himself to be a formidable force, ready to reshape the landscape of this sport in the future.
Christian Alshon, born in 2000 in Boca Raton (Florida, USA). He was an excellent tennis player and won the NCAA Division III championship while playing for the University of Chicago. Notably, at this tournament, Christian had a series of 18 consecutive wins in singles, an achievement that showed his extraordinary talent and determination from a very young age.

The biggest turning point in Christian’s career came in June 2021, just two weeks after winning the NCAA title. That’s when he first picked up a pickleball racket. With a tennis background, Alshon quickly adapted and his career grew at a breakneck pace.
Most recently, he won back-to-back PPA men's doubles gold medals in early 2025 and the Cincinnati PPA Tour men's singles title. These achievements have brought Alshon to the attention of the media and the global pickleball community.
