On the morning of June 24, the Sinh Ton Dong Island Infirmary, Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa Province received and provided emergency care to fisherman Dang Van Tang (born in 1996, from Long Hai Commune, Phu Quy District, Binh Thuan Province), a crew member of fishing boat BTh 96994TS, who suffered a wound to the neck caused by a stingray.

The patient was admitted to the infirmary with a wound on the left side of the neck, about 1x2cm in size, jagged wound edges, wide base, torn sternocleidomastoid muscle and a small hard foreign object (about 1mm), bleeding.

According to the patient, at around 4 o'clock the same day, while diving to catch fish, he was suddenly attacked by a bream, stabbing him in the neck, causing injury.

Upon admission, the patient was conscious, showing signs of pain from the wound and mild pain in the left chest area. Upon examination, doctors from Brigade 146, Naval Region 4 said that the patient's vital signs were normal.

Doctors quickly treated the wound by making a wide incision, cleaning, removing foreign objects, stopping the bleeding, administering intravenous fluids, antibiotics, injecting tetanus antitoxin and painkillers. The patient is being monitored and treated actively, and his health is gradually stabilizing.

Since the beginning of the year, medical centers and clinics on islands in Truong Sa district have received and provided emergency care to a number of fishermen who suffered food poisoning related to sea fish or injuries caused by sea fish while exploiting seafood in Truong Sa waters.

In mid-March 2025, Truong Sa Town Medical Center provided emergency care to fisherman Huynh Con, a crew member of Ninh Thuan fishing boat NT 90963TS, who was poisoned by a fish in his foot.

Previously, at the end of February, 6 fishermen on fishing boat QNg 92180 TS of Quang Ngai province were poisoned by eating red snapper and were promptly treated by doctors at Song Tu Tay Island Infirmary and soon overcame the critical condition./.
