On the morning of June 24, Sinh Ton Dong Island Infirmary received and successfully treated fisherman Dang Van T. (29 years old, from Long Hai commune, Phu Quy district, Binh Thuan province, a crew member of fishing boat BTh 96994TS), who was injured in the neck due to being stabbed by a pliers fish.
According to the patient, at around 4am the same day, while diving to catch seafood, he was suddenly attacked by a bream, stabbed in the neck, causing injury.
The patient was admitted to the hospital with a wound on the left side of the neck, about 1x2cm in size, a torn sternocleidomastoid muscle and a small hard foreign object (about 1mm), with oozing blood.
Upon admission, the patient was conscious, showing signs of wound pain and mild pain in the left chest area.
Doctors at the infirmary quickly treated the wound, removed foreign objects, stopped bleeding, administered IV fluids, antibiotics, tetanus antitoxin injections, and painkillers.
The patient is currently being monitored and treated actively, his health is stable and progressing well.
