Hue fishing boat sank at the estuary, one fisherman lost contact

A fishing boat of fishermen in Hue city collided with a cargo ship causing the fishing boat to sink. Three fishermen on board were rescued, but one fisherman is still missing.

On the evening of October 7, a representative of the Hue City Military Command said that rescue forces were still trying to search for a fisherman missing at sea due to a sinking ship.

Accordingly, on the same afternoon, the ship Thuan Trung 08, while traveling in the South-North direction, collided with the fishing boat TTH 96329-TS when it reached the area near Thuan An estuary ( Hue city).

At the time of the accident, there were four fishermen on board the fishing boat TTH 96329-TS. The strong impact caused all four fishermen on board to fall into the sea, and the boat sank.

Currently, three fishermen on the fishing boat have been taken aboard by the Thuan Trung 08 ship, the remaining fisherman is still missing and has lost contact.

After receiving the information, the Thua Thien Hue Maritime Port Authority directed the Thuan Trung 08 ship to stay at the scene and continue searching for the missing fishermen.

The Port Authority also requested the Hue Coastal Information Station to broadcast a distress message on the coastal information station so that ships operating near the area where the fishing boat sank could increase vigilance and assist in the search.

The military immediately dispatched patrol boats to the scene to search for the missing person. The search is still underway at sea, but due to the darkness, the search is facing many difficulties.
