DK1/9 platform supports and rescues fishermen in critical condition

At 11:00 a.m. on October 7, DK1/9 Platform (Ba Ke Cluster), belonging to DK1 Battalion, Naval Region 2 promptly received, rescued and assisted a fisherman in distress at sea.

Previously, while fishing in the DK1 sea area, fisherman Nguyen Van Cha, born in 1980, from Khanh Hoa , on fishing boat number QNg 90789TS, suffered from severe abdominal pain, fatigue, and high blood pressure. The crew on board quickly took the fisherman to the DK1/9 platform for emergency treatment.

Immediately after receiving the fisherman, the officers, soldiers and military medics of the Platform quickly transferred him to the platform, grasped the situation, organized examination and first aid, helped the patient overcome the critical condition and reported to the Command Center at all levels to have a timely support plan.

Through examination and initial assessment, it was determined that the patient suffered from decompression sickness due to diving to catch seafood at a depth of 25m, and that his condition had worsened, beyond the ability to treat on-site. The Commander of DK1/9 Platform contacted, notified and instructed the fishing boat to take the patient to the infirmary on Truong Sa Island for further treatment.
