In the video obtained by AVP journalists, the explosion was quite powerful and the fireball rose high. There is no exact information about the extent of the damage yet, but according to preliminary data, there were no injuries or deaths.

According to official information received from Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev, the explosion occurred at around 3 a.m. (local time).

“At around 3 a.m., air defense systems opened fire in Rostov-on-Don. A drone was shot down. Damage on the ground is being determined,” the governor said.

From Mr. Golubev’s statement, it can be seen that the explosion and fire were probably caused by debris from the drone. However, at present, neither the type of drone nor the launch site have been disclosed.

Later, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin added more information about the incident. According to him, two drones were detected and destroyed. The first of them was detected and shot down near the Kaluga region. The second drone also attempted to carry out an attack on the Russian capital and was shot down in the Istra district of the Moscow region.

At the time of publication, a representative of the emergency services confirmed that there were no damages or injuries as a result of the incident. Debris has been found, experts are working at the scene.
