(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the evening of September 6, comrade Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation visited, presented gifts and encouraged people to move to safe storm shelters in Thuy Nguyen and Ngo Quyen districts.
Also attending were members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Pham Van Lap, Chairman of the City People's Council; Dao Trong Duc, Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Dao Khanh Ha, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department and leaders of relevant departments, branches, units and localities.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau visited, presented gifts and encouraged people to move to safe storm shelters in Lap Le commune, Thuy Nguyen district. By 6:00 p.m. on September 6, 20 households with about 50 people, mainly workers and laborers working at VSIP Industrial Park living in dilapidated boarding houses, had been moved to safe storm shelters at the Lap Le Commune Cultural House.
The City Party Secretary visited, gave gifts and encouraged people to move to safe storm shelters at Quang Trung Secondary School, Ngo Quyen District. This is one of 6 locations chosen to relocate households living in 31 key structures of Van My Ward, including 12 old, dilapidated apartment buildings.
At the places visited, the Secretary of the City Party Committee acknowledged the local authorities' efforts and proactiveness in selecting suitable locations for people to move, ensuring adequate facilities, creating favorable conditions for people to safely take shelter until the storm subsides. The Secretary of the City Party Committee encouraged people to overcome difficulties and safely take shelter here to ensure safety; at the same time, requested the local authorities to take good care and prepare necessary necessities to serve the people during the storm.
