Shanghai Party Secretary and Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary congratulate Vietjet on new route

Vietjet has opened a direct flight connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai.

Politburo member and Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Tran Cat Ninh and Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen congratulated Vietjet's new route.

Vietjet's Shanghai - Ho Chi Minh City route will begin operations from December 1, 2023, with 7 round trips per week. With just over 4 hours of flight time per leg, the flights meet the travel needs of people, tourists, and businessmen in Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City with convenient times and good fares.

Shanghai is the most populous city in China, one of the four centrally-governed cities of the world's second largest economy. Shanghai is the leading economic and financial center not only of China but also of the world.

In 2022, Shanghai's GDP will reach 4,465 billion yuan (663 billion USD), with a population of 24.76 million people. The flight route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Shanghai, the city ranked 5th in the list of cities with the most billionaires in the world, will also open up more opportunities to develop high-end products and services, connect trade, attract investment, etc.

Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City, with a population of nearly 9 million people, is a prominent economic, cultural and tourist center of Vietnam as well as the region with many unique cultural features, a bustling modern lifestyle and convenient connections to all destinations in Vietnam as well as internationally.

The Shanghai - Ho Chi Minh City flight route was launched to coincide with the 74th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (1950 - 2024) and the 30th anniversary of sister city relations between the two cities (1994 - 2024), and is expected to become an important milestone in further developing trade, cultural, educational, and people-to-people exchanges between the two cities, two countries, and two nations.

Vietjet has operated flights between Vietnam and China since 2014, with the first flights bringing Chinese people and tourists to top tourist destinations in Vietnam such as Nha Trang, Da Nang, Phu Quoc...

To celebrate this meaningful event, Vietjet is launching a big promotion campaign with super preferential fares for customers to the two cities!

The new route will not only connect Shanghai with Ho Chi Minh City but also continue to expand Vietjet's flight network covering Vietnam, Australia, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Kazakhstan... and beyond.
