Just about 10 minutes after the dam was closed, the water level at the foot of the dam, an area of about 2,000 square meters, had dropped significantly. People immediately rowed boats and floated to the shallow water area, bringing all kinds of tools such as fishing nets, nets, rackets... to "hunt for the gods' blessings".

A long line of people spread nets along the foot of the dam, while many others concentrated on casting nets in deeper water areas. Locals said: The time when the dam stops releasing water is always a good opportunity to catch many types of natural fish such as: silver carp, silver carp, common carp, etc. However, this year because the hydropower plant closed later than usual, the amount of fish was not as abundant as expected.
