Opening the Congress, Vice Chairman of Ung Hoa Commune People's Committee Nguyen Duc Vuong emphasized: "Health is the most precious asset of human beings, the invaluable asset of the nation. Physical training and sports are the foundation for building a healthy, civilized and developed society."
Implementing the teaching of President Ho Chi Minh: "A strong people makes a prosperous country", in recent years, Ung Hoa commune has always paid attention to developing mass physical training and sports movements associated with the task of socio -economic development and building cultural life at the grassroots level.
Up to now, the sports training movement in the villages in the commune has grown stronger and stronger, attracting a large number of people to participate in volleyball, badminton, table tennis, traditional martial arts, athletics, etc. Typical examples are the volleyball teams in Cau village, Giang Trieu village, Bung village, Gioi Duc village; badminton clubs in Than village, Kha Lac village, Dao Xa village; table tennis clubs in Kim Giang village, Chan Ky village, Man Xoan village. In particular, the traditional martial arts movement in Ung Hoa commune has achieved many proud achievements: Athlete Kieu Phuong Linh (Bung village) won a gold medal; Nguyen Tung Lam (An Thai village) won a silver medal; athletes: Ngo Tuan Nghia, Ngo Manh Hoang (Thai Bang village) and Duong Anh Vu (Manh Tan village) won a bronze medal at the 2025 National Youth Traditional Martial Arts Championship.
Before the Congress, Ung Hoa commune successfully organized 10 sports competitions, achieving 125% of the city's plan with the spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility Sports", ensuring safety, joy, health, attracting a large number of people to cheer and respond.
The Congress awarded 10 First prizes, 10 Second prizes and 20 Third prizes to outstanding athletes and units at the competitions; and awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives with achievements in organizing the 1st Ung Hoa Commune Sports Festival in 2025.
The first Ung Hoa Commune Sports Festival in 2025 is a great festival for all people, an occasion to demonstrate strength and summarize the achievements of the sports training movement among cadres, civil servants, public employees, students and people. The festival is also an opportunity to select outstanding athletes to represent Ung Hoa commune to participate in the 11th Capital Sports Festival.
