With the theme: "Memories of the Ancient Village", the Festival takes place from December 3 to 7, including 2 communication activities: Campaign "Check-in with Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village"; Online photo contest "Ancient Village Perspective" with hashtag VanhoaDulich LangcoDongHoaHieplanVI.

The festival will include 9 main activities: Heritage Journey "Connecting Culture, Tourism and Craft Villages"; Developing tourism products of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village; Digital Journey to Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village; Cuisine "Quintessence of the West"; Folk dance program; "Village gate storytelling" contest; Program "Night of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village's imprint"; Program of Vietnamese goods to the countryside; Art program.

Comrade Huynh Minh Tuan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered the opening speech at the Festival.

In addition, the Festival also has response activities including: Competition of offering rituals, fruit trays; folk games; organization of releasing flower lanterns; reenactment of communal house worship rituals; and Contest of Top Scholars.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan said that with its strategic location connecting Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta provinces, along with its diverse ecosystem, rich products, traditional craft villages, floating markets, and hundred-year-old ancient houses - including the UNESCO-recognized Ong Kiet ancient house - Cai Be has all the conditions to develop ecological, cultural and community tourism.

On May 24, 2017, Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village was ranked as a National Architectural and Artistic Monument. This is a source of pride and responsibility for the locality to continue to preserve and promote this precious heritage, attracting domestic and international tourists.

The festival has become a meaningful annual cultural event, demonstrating Dong Thap's determination to make tourism an important economic sector.

This event not only honors the unique values of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village, but is also an opportunity for the province to continue to exploit resources and improve tourism products, aiming to bring visitors profound experiences imbued with the cultural identity of the river.

According to comrade Huynh Minh Tuan, this year's Festival is organized on a larger scale, with more unique activities, bringing the spirit of connecting tradition and modernity, heritage and technology, and the local community and international friends.

Visitors to the Festival will experience the "Heritage Journey" to discover the cultural quintessence - ancient village tourism; the culinary space "Quintessence of the West" with rustic delicacies imbued with identity; immerse themselves in the art program "Night of the Imprints of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village".

The activities of “Digital Journey” applying VR, the “Village Gate Storytelling” contest, the Famtrip program and the Discussion “Developing tourism products of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village - Connecting Heritage, Creativity, Sustainability” will open up many new perspectives, inspiring creativity for sustainable tourism development.

The festival is not only a cultural activity of the people of Cai Be and Dong Thap, but also a bridge connecting localities, businesses and tourists, contributing to making the image of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village shine on the tourism map of the Mekong Delta.
