Attending the meeting, commendation and congratulations were comrades: Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee; People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association.
Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Quang Phuc, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of relevant departments and branches, along with artists and families of artists who were awarded the title.
Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang emphasized that awarding the title of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist is the recognition of the Party, State and people for artists who have made outstanding contributions to the cause of building and developing the culture and arts of the nation. Notably, all 5 artists of Hai Duong who were awarded the title by the State in 2023 are all generations of Cheo stage artists. This affirms the cultural values and people of Hai Duong, worthy of being the cradle of Cheo art with the name "Eastern Cheo".
Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang said that the artists being awarded this time is both an honor and a great responsibility. This is the motivation for the artists to continue to nurture their passion for art, to devote their talents and intelligence to the cause of preserving, building and developing national culture, worthy of the trust and admiration of the public.
Among the People's Artists and Meritorious Artists of Hai Duong, there are those who are very young, at the peak of their careers, those who are considered "masters", with a long history of achievements in artistic activities, and those who have passed away with great and proud contributions when they were alive. They all share a love for their profession, a passion for art, and a desire to live their lives for culture and art.
Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang requested Hai Duong's agencies, departments, branches, organizations and localities to deeply understand the role of culture, arts and artists; continue to care for, encourage and motivate the province's cultural and artistic team to promote their talents, creativity, passion and dedication, and contribute more to the cause of developing advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continues to advise the province on appropriate mechanisms and policies to care for artists, especially preferential policies to attract talents in the field of art.
The Provincial Party Secretary hopes that artists, actors, and musicians in the province's professional art units will continuously nurture their passion and artistic creativity, continue to practice, contribute their talents, improve themselves, and become Meritorious Artists and People's Artists in the future; care for and guide the younger generation so that Hai Duong will have more talented artists who will devote themselves to the cultural cause of the province and the whole country.
In the 10th round of awarding the titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist in 2023, Hai Duong has 1 more artist awarded the title of People's Artist, 4 artists awarded the title of Meritorious Artist out of a total of nearly 400 artists nationwide.
Up to now, Hai Duong has 3 People's Artists and 20 Meritorious Artists who have been awarded or posthumously awarded.
