In the trading session this morning, April 2 (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil price increased by 0.24 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.29%, to 83.95 USD/barrel.
In contrast, Brent oil prices are fluctuating up and down during the session. Closing yesterday's trading session (April 1), Brent oil prices reached 87.74 USD/barrel. Opening this morning's session price reached 87.73 USD/barrel, currently at 87.72 USD/barrel, down 0.01% and fluctuating around this threshold.
At the end of the first quarter of 2024, oil prices were “anchored” at a fairly high level. Brent crude oil was at 87 USD/barrel, WTI crude oil reached 83.17 USD/barrel. In yesterday’s trading session, gasoline prices turned down slightly, but the overall forecast for the week is that there will be an upward trend.
Both benchmarks have been rising steadily since the start of the year and posted sharp gains in March, Reuters reported, with oil prices climbing in the first quarter largely due to political tensions in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
On the other hand, Russia’s supply has been affected as its oil refineries have been repeatedly targeted by drones, fueling concerns that crude supplies are getting tighter and demand is rising.
