Nam Ngặt border village has 64 households with 382 people, 100% of whom are Dao ethnic people. Implementing the movement "All people protect national security", in 2015, the village's border and landmark self-management team was established with 16 participating households. Thanh Thuy International Border Guard Station manages and protects a border section of more than 31 km with 44 markers, including 41 main markers and 3 secondary markers. Patrolling, managing and protecting the border and markers is carried out by the unit on average 3-4 times a week. Especially, on Independence Day when everyone and every family is reunited, at Thanh Thuy border, soldiers in green uniforms still proactively increase patrols and guard to completely preserve the peace and happiness of the people.
