Honoring exemplary businesses and grassroots union officials on the occasion of the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of Vietnam Trade Union

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of August 8, at the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, the City Labor Federation (CLF) held a conference to honor 95 "For Workers" enterprises and 95 exemplary grassroots trade union officials; Celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024).

Attending the conference were comrades: Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Pham Van Thep, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; representatives of leaders of relevant city departments and branches and exemplary union officials and members of the city.

At the Conference, union officials at all levels reviewed the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Trade Union over 95 years of formation and development, along with outstanding results in the movement of workers, civil servants and laborers and the activities of the Hai Phong City Trade Union. Thereby, clearly demonstrating the spirit of brave struggle and creative labor, excellently completing tasks in each revolutionary stage, at the same time constantly developing and becoming a large organization, in which affirming the significant role of the grassroots union officials, as well as the leaders of agencies, units and enterprises in the recent past.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chairman of the City Labor Federation affirmed that to achieve these results, generations of city labor union officials have strived, proactively and creatively implemented synchronous solutions to implement the direction and guidance of the Hai Phong City Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; with the attention and coordination of units and enterprises in the city.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam presented the Government 's Emulation Flag to the City Labor Federation.

He emphasized that 2024 is an important year for Trade Union activities in the context of Vietnam continuing to participate extensively in Free Trade Agreements and International Labor Conventions. In order to continue to innovate, improve the quality of activities, successfully and comprehensively implement the goals and tasks of the annual work program, the Chairman of the City Labor Federation requested that all levels of the city's trade unions regularly pay attention to the material and spiritual life of union members; listen to the thoughts and aspirations, promptly share and participate in resolving the legitimate and justifiable recommendations of union members, workers and civil servants.

At the same time, trade unions at all levels continue to promote the work of developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions, building strong grassroots trade unions; further promote patriotic emulation movements; promote the application of information technology in exchanging information on the labor situation, life, and employment of workers as well as grassroots trade union activities with direct superior trade unions and the City Federation of Labor; strengthen the work of managing, inspecting, and supervising financial revenue and expenditure, and building strong enough resources to meet the tasks of the trade union organization.

Leaders of departments and specialized union officials of the city received the Commemorative Medal.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister awarded the Emulation Flag to the Hai Phong City Labor Federation for its outstanding achievements in the 2023 emulation movement, contributing to the construction of socialism and national defense. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the "For the cause of building trade union organizations" Medal to 142 leaders of departments, branches and full-time trade union officials of the city for their contributions in leading, directing, coordinating work, or supporting and actively contributing to the cause of building and developing the Vietnam Trade Union. The City Labor Federation awarded Certificates of Merit to 95 outstanding trade union officials with outstanding achievements in contributing to building a strong trade union organization; and awarded Certificates of Merit to 95 outstanding enterprises with outstanding achievements in caring for union members and workers.
