(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of November 19, at Hai Phong Polytechnic College, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a meeting to celebrate the 42nd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20; Summarize the City's Vocational Education Teachers' Teaching Conference and the Sports Festival, National Defense and Security Education Sports Festival of Vocational Education Institutions in the City in 2024.

Attending the program were Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Cao Lan; along with representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors, and vocational training institutions in the city.

Comrade Nguyen Cao Lan, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, acknowledged the efforts of vocational training institutions.

In recent years, education and training in general, vocational education in particular, have played an important role in improving the quality of human resources, contributing to increasing labor productivity, promoting economic growth, and increasing national competitiveness. The city's vocational education system has had many positive changes in enrollment scale, training quality, and the rate of trained workers with suitable jobs is increasing day by day. The results of vocational education have contributed significantly to forming a skilled workforce, building the working class, serving the cause of industrialization and modernization of the city.

In order to improve the quality of vocational education, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs organized the City Vocational Education Teachers' Conference from June 6-9, 2024 at the College of Fisheries and Food Technology with the participation of 55 teachers from 13 vocational education institutions; attracting 30 vocational education institutions in the city with about 600 teachers participating in competitions, seminars, and learning experiences. Of the 55 lectures, there were 43 integrated lessons (accounting for 78%), 06 theoretical lessons (accounting for 11%), 06 practical lessons (accounting for 11%) at college and intermediate levels of 28 occupations.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded collective prizes to 06 vocational training institutions, 38 teachers won individual prizes, 02 teachers won subsidiary prizes for the most creative and effective lectures using self-made training equipment and the lectures with the most successful application of information technology.

Based on the results of the City Teaching Competition, the Organizing Committee of the Teaching Competition selected 16 teachers who won First, Second, and Third prizes at the City Teaching Competition to compete at the National Teaching Competition in Quang Ninh Province. As a result, the Hai Phong City Delegation had 04 teachers winning Third prizes, 10 teachers winning Encouragement prizes, and 01 teacher winning the prize for most effective use of training equipment.

The teaching conference has motivated vocational education teachers to strive, improve themselves, meet the requirements of innovation, improve the quality of vocational training, develop vocational education, and at the same time encourage, motivate, and create opportunities for vocational education teachers to study, exchange, and share experiences in teaching.

2024 is the first year that the Sports Festival, National Defense and Security Education Festival of Vocational Education Institutions in the city are organized. The Sports Festival took place excitingly and attractively from November 11-12, 2024 at the College of Fisheries and Food Technology, attracting more than 100 athletes from 12 vocational education institutions in the city with 04 competition events: Throwing grenades far and in the right direction; Cross-country running; Badminton; Table tennis. As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 01 First Prize, 02 Second Prizes, 03 Third Prizes to groups; 07 First Prizes, 07 Second Prizes, 14 Third Prizes to individuals participating in the Sports Festival.

The sports festival is an opportunity to encourage, motivate and create a competitive atmosphere in teaching and learning the subject of National Defense and Security Education, widely launching the sports movement, and at the same time promoting propaganda and raising the sense of responsibility of the management staff, teachers and students in building national defense and people's security in general, and national defense and security education in schools in particular.

At the program, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and Certificates of Merit from the City Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
