Vice President of the Binh Dinh Provincial Women's Union Hoang Thi Thanh Nha shared about digital transformation for women entrepreneurs:
With an abundant labor force, women are considered to be an important force, actively participating in the market economy, seizing opportunities, being proactive in production labor, pioneering in creating a clean, environmentally friendly production, improving the quality of life. Women's contributions not only increase family income but also have positive impacts on solving rural employment, product output, political stability, social order and safety, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

The women's start-up movement "activated" by the Binh Dinh Women's Union in recent years has contributed to creating interesting stories about Binh Dinh women starting their own businesses. They have quickly grasped the new trends and the new era.
The application of information technology in digital transformation is carried out flexibly, creatively, effectively, creating positive changes in the activities of the association and the women's movement. Developing the digital economy is really convenient, the products of members and women are known by many people, thereby, the value of the products is enhanced, the family economy is improved. This is also a way to help many members start a successful business.
- Could you tell us, in the past time, what specific programs, models or activities has the Binh Dinh Provincial Women's Union implemented to bring digital technology closer to women entrepreneurs?
In the context of deep integration today, traditional business, selling products at traditional markets is no longer suitable, while supermarket systems are full of similar items and big brands. To support female members in changing their business forms, the Binh Dinh Women's Union organizes knowledge training for businesswomen, instructing them on how to use e-commerce through online sales channels. Up to now, some establishments have thousands of orders sold to the market every day.
Supporting women in starting a business and developing the economy has been identified by all levels of the Women's Union as a key task throughout the programs and activities of the union. Therefore, the "Supporting Women in Starting a Business" Project has created a new driving force, unleashing creativity to promote women to successfully start a business. All levels of the Union have focused on raising awareness, creating a strong shift in thinking, working methods, applying scientific and technical advances to production and business, supporting members and women in accessing markets, producing goods, contributing to the economic restructuring in the locality. In particular, paying attention to supporting the improvement of business capacity, starting a business for women with business ideas is like a "new wind" creating a combined strength to help women start a business and do business, contributing to the economic development of the locality.
Changing old habits and ways of thinking so that women can quickly adapt to the pace of life and the strong development of society, the women's start-up program implemented by the Provincial Women's Union to achieve the initial goals is not easy without a suitable implementation method. Grasping the current situation, clearly understanding the needs that women are lacking, needing help and so that the Start-up Support Project for Women Start-ups can be practically implemented in life, the Provincial Women's Union has identified the activities for women to grasp and be confident with their start-up program.
Students will have access to modern knowledge about applying artificial intelligence (AI) in marketing, customer management and business model building.
With the spirit that wherever there are women, there are association activities integrated with the startup program; the program will accompany and be ready to be a support for women to start a business, Project 939 implemented in Binh Dinh has helped women take solid steps on the path to starting their own business and entrepreneurship.
- Through practical implementation, what lessons has the Association learned in helping women "digitalize" business activities in an appropriate and sustainable way?
One of the important lessons is that propaganda and implementation work needs to be organized more regularly, extensively and continuously at the grassroots level. Guidance on business planning, access to capital and start-up policies is still limited, mainly focusing on women who already have a model, not spreading to the group of women who are just starting out.
In addition, for women to truly digitize effectively, it is necessary to combine many synchronous solutions such as: improving technological capacity, creating conditions for access to digital finance, and encouraging participation in cooperative models. In particular, it is necessary to promptly detect and commend typical models to create momentum for dissemination. We are gradually improving these limitations through training programs, connections, and long-term strategic orientation for women.
- Could you please tell us what plans the Association has in the coming time to develop digital capacity for women, especially disadvantaged women, to keep up with the trend of digital economy and online market?
The Association will continue to focus on implementing activities under Project 939 and the 2025 plan, such as expanding digital skills training, supporting the establishment of cooperatives with women’s participation in management, organizing startup festivals and innovation competitions. We will also strengthen coordination with partners such as banks, enterprises, and vocational training organizations to improve digital capacity, and at the same time connect female-led business models with online markets, from OCOP to e-commerce.
In particular, training courses using digital platforms will be promoted in remote areas and disadvantaged groups, helping them gradually access technology and confidently start a business. Our goal is to leave no one behind in the journey of comprehensive digital transformation.
