Binh Duong builds 220ha high-tech park, welcomes semiconductor industry investors

Binh Duong has clearly defined the goal of becoming one of the modern service industry centers, leading in science - technology and innovation in the region by 2050. The semiconductor industry is considered one of the main pillars in the province's development strategy.

To realize this goal, Binh Duong is implementing steps to build a concentrated information technology park and a 220-hectare high-tech park, preparing infrastructure to welcome high-tech and semiconductor industry investors. On the other hand, the province is also accelerating the completion of the transportation system, connecting with airports and seaports.

Implementing the Government 's orientation to train and retrain 50,000 engineers for high-tech industries, Binh Duong has asked universities to develop human resource training projects, while the province has also developed policies to attract high-quality human resources to serve the development requirements of the new stage.

Binh Duong Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi said the locality will create an open and transparent investment environment, with administrative procedures simplified to the maximum so that investors can feel secure in choosing this place as a destination.

At the meeting, international experts on semiconductor technology shared the opportunities and challenges that Vietnam is facing when developing this industry. The experts also gave specific development directions for the semiconductor industry and science parks.

According to experts, the formation of a concentrated information technology park and a high-tech park will bring Binh Duong province closer to its goal of becoming an innovation center of the Southern Key Economic Zone.

To date, Binh Duong has attracted 4,347 investment projects from 65 countries and territories, with a total registered capital of up to 42 billion USD. This achievement helps the province rank 3rd in the country in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Not only is Binh Duong a locality with great appeal to investors, it also continuously leads the country in infrastructure development, as evidenced by the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI). In particular, the province was honored by ICF as the "Smart Community of the Year 2023".

With its achievements, Binh Duong has become an ideal destination for both investors and workers, attracting more than 52% of the current population from other provinces and cities.
