Major General Trinh Van Hung presents gifts to officers and staff of the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command.
The Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command's Recovering Team is responsible for collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Hua Phan province. In the dry season of 2022-2023, the work of surveying, searching, and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died here encountered many difficulties due to the harsh climate and weather; the Team's operating areas are mainly the enemy's previous key targets of destruction, with a large amount of remaining bombs and mines, and a high risk of insecurity in carrying out the mission.
In addition, information about martyrs' graves is increasingly scarce, mainly located in high mountains, deep forests and scattered throughout the area; the terrain is complex, roads are very difficult to travel; terrain changes a lot, difficult to identify; most of the witnesses have died, the survivors are old, weak, and have reduced memory...
Major General Trinh Van Hung talked with and thanked comrade Khan Thong, Chief of Na Khay village, for regularly caring for and helping soldiers of Military Region 4 to carry out their missions.
However, with the attention, direction and facilitation of the Military Region Command, the Military Region 515 Steering Committee, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Steering Committee 515 and the Party Committee, authorities, armed forces and people of Hua Phan province, the officers and staff of the Collection Team have overcome all difficulties and successfully completed the assigned tasks. Up to now, in the 2022-2023 dry season, the Collection Team of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command has searched for and collected 14 martyrs' remains, reaching 93.3% of the set plan. Of which, most of the martyrs' remains found and collected were from information sources provided by local people.
