Ministry of Public Security launches Tree Planting Festival 2024 For a Green Vietnam in Ninh Binh

On the side of Ninh Binh province, the launching ceremony was attended by comrades: Doan Minh Huan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the province.

Also attending the launching ceremony were representatives of functional units under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Public Security and representatives of local police leaders: Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Hoa Binh, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong.

Ministry of Public Security launches Tree Planting Festival 2024 For a Green Vietnam in Ninh Binh — Minister of Public Security To Lam spoke at the launching ceremony.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Minister of Public Security To Lam emphasized: Implementing the Prime Minister's Directive on organizing the "Tet Tree Planting" movement and strengthening the work of protecting and developing forests to implement the Program of planting 1 billion trees "For a green Vietnam", on February 5, 2021, the Ministry of Public Security issued a Plan to unify the organization and implementation of the "Tet Tree Planting" movement throughout the force. Since the inception of the movement, the People's Public Security force has planted nearly 6 million trees, of which nearly 3 million trees were planted at Public Security units and nearly 3 million forest trees were planted in security areas managed by the Ministry of Public Security. Planting trees and forests has made an important contribution to proactively preventing and combating natural disasters, regulating the climate, improving the ecological environment, beautifying the natural landscape, developing the country's socio-economy, and improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

Continuing to respond to President Ho Chi Minh's call for Tet tree planting and the Program to plant 1 billion trees in the period of 2021 - 2025, the Ministry of Public Security launched activities to respond to Tet tree planting in 2024, and at the same time called on all officers and soldiers to enthusiastically participate in tree planting and afforestation; everyone plants trees, every household plants trees, each tree is good; at the same time, raise awareness and have effective measures to protect forests; effectively prevent and combat all kinds of environmental crimes, prevent deforestation, forest burning, and illegal forest exploitation.

Minister To Lam requested that heads of police units and localities need to do a good job of political and ideological education, organize dissemination and thoroughly understand to all officers and soldiers the purpose and meaning of the Tree Planting Festival and launch tree planting ceremonies suitable to the conditions of the unit and locality, especially at newly invested headquarters, ensuring practicality, efficiency, economy, avoiding ostentation. At the same time, together with local Party committees, authorities and people, have more active and practical activities in environmental protection, arouse and raise awareness and responsibility of each officer and soldier to build a green, clean, beautiful and safe working environment and landscape at agencies and units. Strengthen propaganda work on the program "For a green Vietnam" and propaganda on fire prevention and fighting, especially forest fire prevention and fighting.

The leaders of the Ministry of Public Security assigned the Department of Health (under the Ministry of Public Security) to annually evaluate the results of the implementation of the plan to organize and deploy the "Tet tree planting" movement in the People's Public Security force, adjust the targets, tasks, and number of trees planted to ensure that they are suitable to the new situation and the capabilities of the unit and locality; strive to increase 1.5 times in 2024 compared to the previous year and by 2025 achieve the highest results in the Program of planting 1 billion trees launched by the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Colonel Dang Trong Cuong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department affirmed: Imbued with Uncle Ho's teachings, implementing the policies of the Party, the State and the direction of the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, every year, when Tet comes, Ninh Binh Provincial Police and the people in the province enthusiastically plant trees, afforest, participate in promoting the movement in the locality to develop more and more, contributing to preserving the ecological environment, conserving biodiversity, developing the socio-economy and improving the lives of officers, soldiers and people.

In the period of 2021 - 2023, the police force, together with the army and people of the whole province, planted over 3.2 million trees and nearly 1,200 hectares of forest, reaching 100% of the set plan. In order to well implement Uncle Ho's instructions and respond to the Tree Planting Festival "For a Green Vietnam", the Party Committee, the Board of Directors and officers and soldiers of Ninh Binh Provincial Police seriously absorb and are determined to do better in raising awareness of the great, comprehensive, long-term benefits and humanistic values of tree planting, afforestation and forest protection, creating a widespread development movement, associated with the task of developing a green and sustainable economy of the province. Immediately after the launching ceremony, police units across the province will simultaneously organize a tree planting campaign, striving to successfully plant and care for 5,000 trees, contributing to creating a green, clean and beautiful environment, towards the goal launched by the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee.

At the launching ceremony, the Ministry of Public Security presented seedlings; equipment for forest fire prevention and control; a number of epidemic prevention and control medicines; flood and storm prevention kits and personal protective equipment to the Ninh Binh Provincial Police and the Police of the three districts of Kim Son, Gia Vien and Yen Khanh.

After the launching ceremony, General To Lam and the delegates planted trees at the Provincial Police Headquarters. In response to the launching ceremony, the youth of the Provincial Police and the Youth Union members in the province participated in the parade, promoting and propagating environmental protection and biodiversity protection on a number of roads in the province.

Previously, General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security, and the delegation attending the launching ceremony of the Tree Planting Festival offered incense and flowers at the temple of King Dinh Tien Hoang, the temple of King Le Dai Hanh, and planted trees at the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Special National Relic Site.
