On the morning of September 4, in Hoi Phu ward, Gia Lai province, the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command held a launching ceremony for a program to support the Cuban people with the theme "65 years of Vietnam-Cuba friendship".

This is a practical activity to demonstrate the spirit of international solidarity and deep affection between the two brotherly peoples in the context of Cuba facing many difficulties due to economic crisis and natural disasters.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Doan Ngoc Bau, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command, emphasized that the Vietnam -Cuba relationship is a special friendship, symbolizing the solidarity between two peoples sharing the same ideals of independence, freedom and socialism.

Supporting the Cuban people at this time is not only a humanitarian act but also a political , moral and emotional responsibility of the officers and soldiers of the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard.

Colonel Doan Ngoc Bau, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command, spoke at the ceremony.

Responding to the call, all officers and soldiers of the agencies and units voluntarily contributed 100 million VND in the morning. This amount will be transferred to the Cuban people through the official mobilization channel, contributing to sharing difficulties and giving strength to international friends.

Also in the morning of the same day, the Provincial Border Guard Command held a conference to announce and award decisions on military rank promotion and salary increase to 6 officers with outstanding achievements, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

This is a worthy recognition for the efforts and contributions of the officers in the cause of border protection and force building.
