In recent years, the health sector in Ha Tinh province has made remarkable progress in its capacity to care for and protect the health of its people. Besides investing in modern facilities and equipment, focusing on attracting and training highly specialized human resources is a key factor.
As a provincial-level specialized hospital, the Ha Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital has, over the years, focused heavily on improving the quality of its staff by sending them for advanced training in various fields.

After graduating from Hanoi Medical University with a major in traditional medicine, Dr. Phan Thi Hien began working at the Ha Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital. After some time there, she was sent by the hospital to pursue a Specialist II degree in healthcare organization and management. After two years of training, in mid-2025, Dr. Hien officially completed her Specialist II program.
“I feel very fortunate to have received full support from the hospital to pursue further studies in a specialized field. The studies have helped me acquire more knowledge and skills in a new area, thereby diversifying my capabilities in treating, caring for, and serving patients,” shared Dr. Phan Thi Hien, Specialist II.
Dr. Bui Thi Mai Huong, Director of Ha Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital, said: “In the context of autonomy, limited resources, and difficulties, to raise professional standards and meet the trust and satisfaction of patients, gradually improving the quality of the staff through in-depth training is a vital requirement. Therefore, over the past period, the hospital has reviewed and continuously supported the conditions for doctors and nurses to pursue further specialized training. As a result, the hospital now has 20 doctors with Specialist Level I qualifications and 6 doctors with Specialist Level II qualifications; this is the first time the hospital has had such a specialized team. The hospital strives to ensure that by 2026, 100% of its nurses will have a bachelor's degree.”

At Ha Tinh Rehabilitation Hospital, to diversify its rehabilitation treatment capabilities for patients, the hospital leadership has continuously sent doctors and technicians for advanced training in fields such as surgical rehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation, speech therapy, etc., at leading medical facilities such as Viet Duc Hospital, National Children's Hospital, Children's Hospital 1, and universities such as Hanoi Medical University, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Da Nang University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Dien, Director of the Ha Tinh Rehabilitation Hospital, said: "Rehabilitation is a highly specialized field with long treatment times, requiring each doctor and technician to have in-depth expertise in their respective areas to achieve the best treatment results. Therefore, the hospital has continuously collaborated and partnered to send doctors and technicians for advanced training. On average, the hospital allocates over 1 billion VND annually to support the costs of doctors and technicians attending advanced training. Since the beginning of 2025, the hospital has sent over 40 doctors and technicians for advanced training, lasting from 3 months to 1 year."

As the leading medical facility in the province, the Provincial General Hospital focuses not only on attracting and retaining high-quality human resources but also on sending local personnel for advanced training to master new emergency and treatment techniques. From 2022 to the present, the Provincial General Hospital has sent 14 doctors for specialist training (Level II), 46 doctors for specialist training (Level I and Master's degrees), 1 doctoral candidate, and 1 person to study abroad.
Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Provincial General Hospital, said: "Thanks to creating opportunities for doctors and medical staff to receive advanced training, the hospital has gradually mastered many new techniques, especially in the fields of surgery, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, and emergency care... thereby helping people benefit from high-tech services right in their locality, reducing the need for referrals to other hospitals."
Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Director of the Ha Tinh Department of Health, stated: “In recent times, the treatment, admission, and emergency care capabilities of medical facilities have made significant progress. Medical facilities have mastered many new and specialized techniques in emergency care and treatment, bringing satisfaction and trust to patients. This result is thanks to the synchronized and flexible implementation of solutions to improve the quality of the medical staff. In addition to connecting and supporting by inviting experts to provide hands-on training and sharing experiences through telemedicine and online consultations, medical facilities have proactively and significantly focused on sending doctors and medical staff for advanced training in various forms at higher-level medical facilities and medical universities. Each year, hundreds of doctors, technicians, and nurses across the sector are given the opportunity to study and improve their professional skills.”
To further improve the quality of human resources, in the coming period, the sector will direct its subordinate units to assign, transfer, and arrange personnel appropriately to perform tasks and create conditions and arrange for staff to participate in training courses to enhance professional and technical capabilities. It will continue to effectively implement existing provincial policies on supporting human resources in the health sector. It will also cooperate closely with leading medical facilities and medical training institutions to continue providing professional support and technology transfer to hospitals and health centers in the area.”
