An Giang Provincial Border Guard launched the Tree Planting Festival

At the launching ceremony of "Tet tree planting", An Giang Provincial Border Guard strives to plant 6,500 trees of all kinds in 2024.

On February 16, at the Training - Mobile Battalion, the Border Guard Command of An Giang province held the launching ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival, Forever Grateful to Uncle Ho" in 2024.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hiep - Political Commissar of the Border Guard of An Giang province, called on all officers and soldiers of the unit to use all their spirit, sense of responsibility and highest determination to be the leading nucleus in the movement of planting, caring for and protecting trees.

Lieutenant Colonel Hiep paid special attention to the task of actively propagating and mobilizing relatives and people in the border area to participate in tree planting with the slogan "Everyone plants trees", "Every household plants trees". "This not only contributes to mitigating global climate change... but also actively builds an increasingly green - clean - beautiful environmental landscape as beloved Uncle Ho instructed", Lieutenant Colonel Hiep emphasized.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, officers and soldiers of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard along with delegates participated in planting 600 new trees at the new land of the Training - Mobile Battalion. After that, it will be widely deployed along the entire border line under its responsibility. Specifically, in 2024, the entire unit strives to plant 6,500 trees of all kinds, symbolizing the 65th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Border Guard (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2024).

In particular, attention is paid to selecting plants that are suitable for the soil and climate conditions in the military area, as well as caring for and protecting those plants.

In recent times, agencies and units in the Border Guard of An Giang province have independently and in coordination with sectors and localities planted more than 100,000 trees of various kinds in association with the movement to build regular, green, clean and beautiful units.
