
Attending and directing the exercise were Major General Vo Tien Nghi, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard; Colonel Am Phan Xay Nha Su Pat, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Laos Border Guard.
Attending the drill were representatives of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, the Military Region 4 Command, the Provincial Military Command, the Quang Tri Provincial Police, the Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province, Hue city; the Military Commands of Khammouane, Xa Van Nakhet, Sa La Van provinces (Laos); representatives of the Departments, branches, and local authorities on both sides of the border.
According to the hypothetical situation, a group of ethnic minorities (Vietnam) with about 40 households/150 people were incited by bad guys, organized to migrate freely, illegally enter and exit the country and cross the border through the area near the markers 594, 601/1, and marker 606/1, under the management of Thuan Border Guard Station, Lao Bao International Border Gate Border Guard Station, Thanh Border Guard Station ( Quang Tri Border Guard). This area is opposite to Sepon district and Noong district, Xa Van Na Khet province, Laos. People brought their children and all their belongings and items to migrate freely.

To handle the situation, the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard and the Xa Van Na Khet Provincial Military Command established a joint command post at the Lao Bao International Border Gate Border Guard Station, commanding the Huong Phung Border Guard Station, Lao Bao International Border Gate Border Guard Station, Thanh Border Guard Station, Thuan Border Guard Station and the 320, 321, 322 Border Guard Companies of Laos to coordinate with local authorities, militia, and police to organize checkpoints at the border. At the same time, the forces coordinated to conduct propaganda and mobilize people to clearly understand the plots of the bad guys, not listen to the instigators, quickly return to their localities, and stabilize their lives.
According to the Organizing Committee, the exercise was completed in accordance with the required purpose, plan, and scenario, ensuring safety in all aspects. During the exercise, both sides also gained valuable experience in border management and protection.

Major General Vo Tien Nghi, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard, highly appreciated the preparations of all relevant forces and units for the success of the exercise. The training coordination of the two provinces closely followed the actual situation of the locality; the operation of the cooperation mechanism to jointly resolve border incidents and events in accordance with the policies, measures and laws of each country. Thereby, contributing to creating an important premise for units to be proactive in coordinating the management and protection of strong borders.
According to Colonel Am Phan Xay Nha Su Pat, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Lao Border Guard, through the exercise, the Vietnamese Border Guard has promptly supported and shared valuable experiences in border management and protection, making an important contribution to consolidating and building the Lao Border Guard force to gradually grow stronger, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation; together building a peaceful and stable border, while tightening the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam forever green, forever sustainable.
