Ministry of Education and Training announced the comparison of score distribution between admission groups based on graduation exam scores

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has just announced the comparison of scores of 7 popular admission combinations based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores. This is considered the basis for universities to build a table of equivalent standard scores between combinations, and is also the basis for candidates to refer to when making university admission wishes.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training , 7 popular admission combinations based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores include: A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology), C00 (Literature, History, Geography), D01 (Math, Literature, English), C01 (Math, Physics, Literature), D07 (Math, Chemistry, English).

To effectively, transparently, fairly and in accordance with the 2025 enrollment plan, the Ministry of Education and Training recommends that universities, based on the reference of comparing the score distribution and total score percentile of some traditional combinations, use the high school graduation exam results after calibration, the guiding documents of the Ministry of Education and Training, the main subjects for admission of each major/group of majors, specific requirements of the major, school and statistics, assessment of learning outcomes of previous years, training institutions proactively develop and announce equivalent conversion of admission scores between admission combinations according to the plan.

In case of using the results of separate exams (capacity assessment, thinking assessment...) and other methods, based on the announcement of the percentile of the units organizing the separate exams, the training institution determines the most suitable combination (the original combination, usually the combination with the highest correlation coefficient between the two exams) to convert to the results of the separate exam, without building a bridging relationship. Training institutions clearly inform candidates and strictly comply during the admission process; at the same time, they are responsible for explaining the conversion results equivalent to the admission score.

For example, for major X, the admission score according to the 2025 high school graduation exam results of combination A00 (original combination) is 25/30 points, corresponding to the admission score of the separate exam of 75/120 points; if the admission score according to combination B00 is 24/30, this score will not be used to determine the corresponding admission score of the separate exam.

In case of using high school results, based on statistical data on the correlation between the scores of high school graduation exams in 2025 and the average scores of high school subjects in Appendix III, the training institution shall develop and announce the equivalent conversion of admission scores and input thresholds for each program, industry, group of industries or training field.

For training institutions that organize independent exams according to the comprehensive exam, determine the graduation exam subject combinations that are suitable for the characteristics of the exam, which are organized by the training institution and recommend that other training institutions can use, clarifying which combination is most suitable to determine as the original combination; guide and support training institutions in building the conversion of admission scores.

It is known that some schools have announced the percentile table, the difference in scores between admission combinations. For example, at Hanoi National University, candidates who scored 27.75 points in D01 combination are equivalent to 30 A00 points. Or at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, candidates who applied for admission according to D01 were given an additional 0.5 points compared to the remaining combinations.
