Ministry of Education and Training guides university admission process 2025

(PLVN) - On May 19, the Ministry of Education and Training issued an official dispatch guiding university and college admissions, including many time frames that candidates need to remember.

Some notes for candidates

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , all candidates (including candidates admitted directly) must register for admission online, submitting all admission wishes on the General Admission Support System of the Ministry of Education and Training directly at http://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn or indirectly through the National Public Service Portal.

Candidates should note that they should not register their wishes for majors and training programs of schools that do not meet the requirements. In case the schools organize their own registration form, candidates will follow the school's regulations but still have to register on the System.

Candidates must accurately declare and be responsible for the information, including information to enjoy regional priority and priority subjects (if any) at the time of registration for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. Candidates' permanent residence information at all stages will be checked and verified by the authorities based on population data.

For candidates who register for direct admission and priority admission according to regulations, before 5:00 p.m. on June 30, 2025, they must submit their direct admission and priority admission applications to the schools according to the instructions. Candidates who are admitted directly will receive admission information from the schools before July 15, 2025 and must continue to register their admission wishes on the System according to the general schedule.

According to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training, candidates use the granted account to check their high school academic results (report cards) on the System and must report back to the teachers responsible for the high school where the candidates studied to correct errors (if any) and complete before 5:00 p.m. on June 6, 2025.

Candidates who have graduated from high school or college (independent candidates) who want to register for admission but have not yet registered personal information on the System must register to be granted an account to use for registering admission wishes from July 10 to July 20, 2025.

Timelines for registration and payment of admission fees

From July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28, candidates can register, adjust, and add admission wishes an unlimited number of times. Accordingly, candidates' wishes to all schools are registered by major/program and are ranked from 1 to the end (wish 1 is the highest wish). All candidates' wishes to schools will be processed on the Ministry of Education and Training's System and each candidate will only be admitted to 1 highest wish among the registered wishes when ensuring the admission conditions.

From July 29 to 5:00 p.m. on August 5, candidates must pay the admission fee according to the number of wishes online according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Candidates who are eligible for regional and target priority policies must coordinate with the reception points to review the candidate's regional and target priority information (if any). If candidates are unclear about the declaration and payment of admission fees, they can contact the staff at the reception points or the training institution for guidance.

Before 5:00 p.m. on August 30, all admitted candidates (including direct admitted candidates) must confirm their enrollment on the System (if they wish to study).

From September 1 to December 2025, candidates who need to apply for additional admission rounds of schools must follow the admission information posted on the admission information page of that unit.

Finally, candidates submit their application documents to the training institution according to the instructions. Candidates who have an aptitude test and use the aptitude test scores of other training institutions for admission must contact the training institution to register for the exam, take the exam, or submit their aptitude test scores.
