Appointment of 54 new heads and deputy heads of departments of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of July 3, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City (new) announced the decision to appoint 55 heads and deputy heads of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City after merging the education and training sectors of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria Vung Tau before.

Based on the organizational structure of the new Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training based on the merger of the former Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong , and Ba Ria Vung Tau education sectors, the new Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, Nguyen Van Hieu, signed a decision to appoint 10 heads of departments and deputy heads of specialized departments.

In which, the heads of departments and professional divisions include:

1. Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office (Mr. Ho Tan Minh, former Chief of Office of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training).
2. Ms. Ta Thi Minh Thu, Head of Inspection and Legal Affairs Department (Ms. Ta Thi Minh Thu, Head of Non-public Management Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training before).
3. Mr. Tong Phuoc Loc, Head of Personnel Organization Department (Mr. Tong Phuoc Loc, former Head of Personnel Organization Department of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training).
4. Mr. Nguyen Khac Huy, Head of Planning and Finance Department (Mr. Nguyen Khac Huy, Head of Planning and Finance Department of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training before).
5. Ms. Cao Thi Thien Phuc, Head of Student Department (Ms. Cao Thi Thien Phuc, former Head of Political and Ideological Department of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training).

Also today, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the decision to appoint 46 deputy heads of departments and professional boards of this department.

The new Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has appointed the new Board of Directors of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, currently consisting of Director Nguyen Van Hieu and Deputy Directors including Mr./Ms. Nguyen Bao Quoc, Duong Tri Dung, Le Thuy My Chau, Huynh Le Nhu Trang, Nguyen Thi Nhat Hang, Nguyen Van Phong, Truong Hai Thanh, Tran Thi Ngoc Chau, Phan Ke Toai.

According to the new leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, in the immediate future, the payroll and number of employees of the departments and public service units under the three previous Departments of Education and Training will remain the same. At the same time, a roadmap will be developed to streamline the payroll by at least 20% of civil servants and public employees receiving salaries from the state budget to reduce payroll according to the plan to arrange and streamline the organizational apparatus of ministries, departments, branches and localities in accordance with the roadmap for implementing policies stipulated in Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP, amended and supplemented by Decree No. 67/2025/ND-CP.

The new Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has its headquarters at 66-68 Le Thanh Ton, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The facilities of the two previous Departments of Education and Training in Binh Duong and Ba Ria Vung Tau are kept intact, and work is arranged in different areas to ensure that work is handled promptly, continuously and without interruption.
