Assistant coaches were appointed.

The three assistant coaches mentioned above are all familiar faces to Vietnamese football fans. In particular, coach Le Duc Tuan is known to have made a great contribution to helping Phu Dong Club win the 2018 Second Division Championship, thereby gaining the right to be promoted to play in the 2019 National First Division.

Mr. Le Duc Tuan is also one of 22 Vietnamese coaches to date who possess a Pro degree - the highest degree in the coaching degree system of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Currently, Mr. Le Duc Tuan is the assistant head coach at Hanoi Club. Previously, he had led the capital team to compete in the AFC Champions League 2023 with a disciplined spirit and style of play. However, this is the first time coach Le Duc Tuan has joined the coaching staff of the national team and U23 Vietnam.

Meanwhile, coach Luu Danh Minh has been a regular member of the national team and U23 national team coaching staff in recent years and has always received high praise from head coaches of the teams for his sense of responsibility and dedication to work.

As for goalkeeper coach Ngo Viet Trung, this former famous player has also received trust through his work of coaching goalkeepers of the national team and national U23 team recently.

Previously, the Vietnam Football Federation signed a contract with Mr. Choi Won-kwon, a Korean national, to take on the position of assistant head coach of the national men's and U23 teams.

Thus, Mr. Choi Won-kwon, along with coaches Le Duc Tuan, Luu Danh Minh and Ngo Viet Trung, will accompany head coach Kim Sang-sik in the upcoming campaigns of the national men's and U23 teams.

In addition to the technical assistants, head coach Kim Sang-sik will also have support from a team of assistants in charge of various tasks such as fitness, medical , analysis, technical, logistics, translation, etc.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will gather again on June 1 to prepare for the next two matches in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia, against the Philippines at home on June 6 and against Iraq away on June 11 local time.
