Authorized by General To Lam, Colonel Nguyen Viet Giang, Director of Lai Chau Provincial Police, presented 200 gifts and cash (each gift worth 200,000 VND and 1 million VND in cash) to poor households, meritorious people, and policy families; and donated 100 million VND to the Lai Chau Provincial Fund for the Poor. The total amount of money and gifts was 340 million VND.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Viet Giang, Director of Lai Chau Provincial Police, emphasized: The gift is the sentiment, care and encouragement of General To Lam to the people. The Minister of Public Security hopes that the families will continue to promote the revolutionary tradition of their homeland, propagate and mobilize their relatives to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and work together to build Lai Chau to develop more and more; wishing the families a happy and warm traditional New Year.
Also at the ceremony, representatives of the Ministry of Public Security presented 35 cars to the police of communes and towns in Lai Chau province.
In recent years, determining that building a regular commune police force is a major, strategic policy of the Party, the State, the Central Public Security Party Committee, and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security have always paid attention to and prioritized investment in infrastructure and equipment for the commune, ward, and town police forces, meeting the requirements of ensuring security and order at the grassroots level. For Lai Chau Police, up to now, the Ministry of Public Security has provided 89/106 specialized vehicles; provided adequate and timely weapons, support tools, supplies, and equipment; supporting the construction of 49 commune police headquarters and supporting the construction of 17 barracks for commune and town police... Thereby, gradually overcoming the difficult conditions in terms of facilities, supporting and creating favorable conditions for the commune police force in the process of performing the tasks of patrolling and controlling the area, proactively preventing and fighting against all types of crimes and violations of the law, ensuring security and order at the grassroots level, contributing to building an elite and modern police force, meeting the requirements and tasks of work in the new situation./.
