On the YouTube channel Hy Sport in Indonesia, football expert from the archipelago country Justinus Lhaksana said: "The U23 Malaysia team is still allowed to participate in the ongoing U23 Southeast Asian tournament, because the U23 Southeast Asian tournament is not part of the competition system of the World Football Federation (FIFA)"
“However, Malaysian football will be banned by FIFA until 2027. The reason is because the Malaysian team used fake naturalized players in the match against the Vietnamese team on June 10, within the framework of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers,” football expert Justinus Lhaksana added.

In the match between the Vietnamese team on June 10, the Malaysian team unexpectedly won 4-0.
In the Malaysian squad that met the Vietnamese team at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) that day, there were 5 brand new naturalized players including Facundo Garces, Imanol Machuca, Jon Irazabal, Joao Figueiredo and Rodrigo Holgado. All 5 of these players contributed greatly to Malaysia's victory over the Vietnamese team.
Football expert Justinus Lhaksana commented: “The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) claims that these players have Malaysian ancestors. If that is true, why doesn’t FAM provide documents to prove it?”
“On the contrary, if the backgrounds of the above players are not clear, it means that Malaysian football is hiding something,” said Mr. Justinus Lhaksana.

According to football expert Justinus Lhaksana, compared to FAM's approach, the Indonesian national team and the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) are much more transparent in proving the origin of naturalized players.
Mr. Justinus Lhaksana compared: “In Indonesia, we trace the origin of players back two to three generations, with birth certificates and everything else related.”
“Look at our naturalized players, like Shayne Pattynama, Joey Pelupessy, Ragnar Oratmangoen, Stefano Lilipaly, even Emil Audero, they clearly have Indonesian blood,” Mr. Justinus Lhaksana affirmed.
Previously, there were several accusations, especially from Indonesian newspapers, against the Malaysian team. These accusations said that the naturalized Malaysian player was not qualified to play for the team nicknamed Harimau Malaya, when the team hosted the Vietnamese team on June 10.
Earlier this month, Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Secretary General Datuk Seri Windsor Paul confirmed that the AFC is not investigating the Malaysian team regarding the issue of naturalized players.
The AFC General Secretary also confirmed that there were no complaints against the Malaysian team, related to the match on June 10, between the Malaysian team and the Vietnamese team.
