Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang paid an official visit to China and attended the Beijing Xiangshan Forum.

The visit aims to implement the common perceptions reached between the two countries' senior leaders, especially the Joint Statement on continuing to promote and deepen the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

The participation of the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense in the Beijing Xiangshan Forum this time aims to continue affirming Vietnam's active and responsible role in international and regional issues; demonstrating support and active participation in international multilateral activities organized by the Chinese Ministry of National Defense; and at the same time maintaining high-level contacts between the leaders of the two countries' Ministries of National Defense, contributing to strengthening defense relations and the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China.

On the same afternoon, General Phan Van Giang and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense visited the Vietnamese Embassy in China. Talking with the Embassy staff, General Phan Van Giang highly appreciated the Embassy's contributions to strengthening the Vietnam-China relationship; thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in general and the Vietnamese Embassy in China in particular for their attention and close coordination in promoting bilateral defense cooperation between Vietnam and China.

General Phan Van Giang expressed his belief that the embassy staff will overcome all difficulties, unite, complete the tasks assigned by the Party and State, and contribute more to promoting the stable and sustainable development of Vietnam-China relations.
