Minister Le Minh Hoan attends the 247th anniversary of the US Independence Day

Minister Le Minh Hoan highly appreciated relevant US agencies for actively providing technical support to Vietnam's agriculture and rural areas.

On the evening of June 29, in Hanoi, US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper chaired the celebration of the 247th anniversary of the Independence Day of the United States of America. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan and leaders of many ministries, departments, branches and localities of Vietnam attended the ceremony.

Representing the Government of Vietnam, Minister Le Minh Hoan delivered a congratulatory speech to the leaders and people of the United States on Independence Day.

The Minister acknowledged that the United States is one of Vietnam's leading important partners and highly appreciated the results of bilateral cooperation achieved on all three bilateral, regional and international levels, especially the activities of contacts, dialogues and bilateral delegation exchanges in the first half of 2023.

Towards the 28th anniversary of diplomatic relations and 10 years of the establishment of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Partnership, the Minister reviewed important principles of the bilateral relationship such as "putting aside the past, overcoming differences, promoting similarities, looking towards the future", equal cooperation and mutual benefit.

Minister Le Minh Hoan highlighted the achievements of both sides in the field of agricultural cooperation, including the strong growth of two-way agricultural, forestry and fishery turnover in recent years. The Minister appreciated the relevant US agencies for facilitating Vietnamese agricultural products to access the US market and actively providing technical support to Vietnam's agriculture and rural areas.

The Minister also expressed his impression that the theme of this year's US Independence Day is "National Parks", and emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in protecting forest resources and natural heritage, promoting tourism and people-to-people exchange...

US Ambassador Marc Knapper affirmed that the United States values the Comprehensive Partnership with Vietnam, supports a “strong, independent, self-reliant, and prosperous” Vietnam, and wishes to continue promoting relations with Vietnam on the basis of respect for each other’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political institutions.

The Ambassador thanked Minister Le Minh Hoan and leaders of ministries, departments, branches and localities of Vietnam for actively coordinating with the Embassy and agencies of the US Government and Congress in the past time, and affirmed that the US will continue to pay attention, devote resources and appropriate budget to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in education, health, science and technology, and support Vietnam in overcoming the consequences of war, adapting to climate change, digital transformation, etc.
