Greek Foreign Minister works with ASEAN Ambassadors

On May 5, as Chair of the ASEAN Committee on Anti-Corruption and Anti-Corruption (ACAT) in Greece, the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece arranged a meeting between ASEAN Ambassadors and Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis.

Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and Ambassadors of ASEAN countries.

At the meeting, the Greek Foreign Minister emphasized areas of cooperation with ASEAN countries, including top priorities in trade, high technology, especially AI, tourism , cultural exchange, and labor supply for the Greek market.

In addition, there are issues of inter-regional cooperation between the EU and ASEAN, emerging issues in the region and the world , the role of Greece as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council on maritime security issues and enforcement of international maritime law, global issues on climate change, disasters, natural disasters, etc.

On behalf of ASEAN Ambassadors, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong made specific proposals on cooperation with Greece within the framework of ASEAN-EU cooperation.

Regarding the Vietnam-Greece relationship, the Ambassador suggested that the two countries promote the signing of agreements on tax, maritime and a memorandum of understanding on labor cooperation, as well as bilateral cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Vietnam-EU relationship.

This is the second meeting between the Greek Foreign Minister and ASEAN Ambassadors in Greece since the first meeting in 2021. The two sides expressed their wish to have more regular meetings to promote cooperation.
