Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism: Training on science, technology and innovation activities in 2025

VHO - On the morning of December 18th, the training conference on science, technology, and innovation activities in 2025 took place at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace (Hanoi), attracting a large number of participants including officials and employees from agencies and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Overview of the Conference

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Science , Technology, Training and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Loan emphasized that science, technology and innovation are increasingly becoming important driving forces in the country's development.

For the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this field not only promotes socio -economic development but also directly contributes to preserving and promoting national cultural values, improving sports achievements, developing sustainable tourism, and creating a solid foundation for digital transformation across the entire sector.

The Law on Science, Technology and Innovation, along with its implementing guidelines, has established an important legal framework to promote research and application of technology in the preservation, restoration, and digitization of cultural heritage; improve the quality of training and sports achievements; develop smart tourism, manage destinations, and promote them on digital platforms.

At the same time, we must promote innovation in information and communication, journalism, printing and publishing, especially in transforming operating models, producing digital content, and developing the cultural industry.

Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology, Training and Environment, Nguyen Thi Phuong Loan, delivered a speech at the conference.

For research institutes and training facilities, scientific, technological, and innovative activities are identified as key tasks, closely linked to advisory work, policy planning, strategy development, and the development of high-quality human resources.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Loan also expressed that practical implementation shows that scientific, technological, and innovation activities at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism still face many difficulties, from the proposal stage to the development and implementation of tasks; the management and organization of the application of research results are not truly effective; and the integration of innovation and digital transformation in training as well as specialized activities is not yet synchronized.

At the conference, speakers provided an overview of standardization, measurement, and quality management activities.

At the conference, speakers introduced the basic contents and new points of the Law on Science, Technology and Innovation; regulations on the process of proposing, selecting, and organizing implementation; evaluating and applying research results to serve the development of industries and fields; an overview of standardization, measurement and quality activities….

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Loan, in the coming period, the Department of Science, Technology, Training and Environment will continue to closely coordinate with relevant units to strengthen guidance and support for agencies, research institutes and training facilities in implementing scientific, technological and innovation tasks.

At the same time, we will strengthen the link between research and practice, develop applications of new technologies, promote digital transformation, and foster innovation in the fields of culture, sports, tourism, and information and communication.
