Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health), said the above on the sidelines of the Northern Hospital Directors Club Conference, taking place over 2 days, April 18-19, in Hai Duong .

According to Dr. Ha Anh Duc, the situation of fake drugs and fake milk recently is "extremely painful".

The appearance of fake milk products from a company that produces fake milk at some medical facilities has caused patients to accidentally use milk that does not meet quality standards.

Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management ( Ministry of Health ) affirmed: "The Ministry of Health's viewpoint is to handle strictly, there are no forbidden areas, and no cover-up if there are violations detected by the authorities" (Photo: Thanh Hai).

"We require hospitals to review the use of milk in the hospital, see when this started, and carefully review who it was used for, ensuring that there is information about the person who used it. If there are health problems related to the use of milk, medical facilities must be responsible for advising and consulting patients to use the product," said Dr. Duc.

In response to the question of how to handle the situation if doctors prescribe these types of milk, Dr. Duc said: "The Ministry of Health has a prescription regulation, clearly defining the responsibilities of the person who prescribes the prescription. In case of prescription violations, depending on the severity of the violation, administrative sanctions can be imposed, or even criminal sanctions if the violation is particularly serious," Dr. Duc emphasized.

The Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment also confirmed that early next week, the Ministry of Health will issue a document requesting hospitals to rectify and review. The Ministry of Health requires hospital directors and heads to be responsible for thoroughly implementing prescriptions, selling drugs, and providing services in hospitals.

"The Ministry of Health's viewpoint is to handle it strictly, with no forbidden zones or cover-ups if violations are discovered by authorities," said Mr. Duc.

The leader of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management of the Ministry of Health also informed that the latest circular issued in 2024 has a list of techniques related to clinical nutrition and will continue to be specified to provide more detailed instructions for medical staff and patients.

Previously, there were many clinical guidelines for doctors to advise patients on clinical nutrition. For example, in the case of patients with malnutrition, in parallel with prescriptions, clinical nutrition supports how. Mr. Duc said that developed countries do very well in this field, Vietnam is behind but is trying to improve.

Previously, through inspection, some hospitals discovered that milk from one of the companies producing fake milk under investigation was circulating in the hospital. These hospitals said that they had conducted bidding.

To ensure the absolute rights and safety of patients, the hospital has proactively stopped advising on the use of the above milk products in departments and recalled all products to return to the supplier.

Both hospitals affirmed that in case the product is found to be counterfeit, the hospital and the users of the milk will be the victims. The hospital pledged to accompany the patients to reclaim their legitimate rights.

Regarding the Ministry of Health, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Health to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security in investigating and handling cases of counterfeit drug trafficking, because medicines and health protection foods are goods that directly affect people's health and lives.

The Prime Minister requested the recall of counterfeit drugs and fake health protection foods that have been discovered, and the timely prevention and minimization of the harmful effects of using these products.
