Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu affirmed that with the efforts of VFF, the determination of the clubs, the long-term companionship, and the responsibility of the sponsors, over the years, the national women's football championship has gradually improved its professionalism, contributing to exciting matches.
“The tournament is a basis for experts to select excellent personnel for the national women's teams, especially the Vietnam women's team. Thanks to that, Vietnam women's football has gradually achieved remarkable results. Most recently, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team won tickets to the 2026 Women's Asian Cup Finals in Australia. In addition, the Vietnam women's team also ranked 37th in the FIFA rankings, and is also ranked 6th in Asia,” said VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu.
The National Women's Football Championship - Thai Son Bac Cup 2025 attracts 6 participating teams including: Hanoi, Phong Phu Ha Nam , Ho Chi Minh City I, Ho Chi Minh City II, Vietnam Coal and Minerals, Thai Nguyen T&T. According to the draw results, in the first round taking place on September 4, Thai Nguyen T&T will meet Than KSVN, Ho Chi Minh City II will meet Ho Chi Minh City I and Hanoi will compete with Phong Phu Ha Nam.
The teams will compete in a round-robin format (home and away) at the host city to calculate points and rank from First to Sixth. The winning team will represent Vietnam in the 2026/2027 AFC Champions League for Women. The first leg of the 2025 National Women's Football Championship - Thai Son Bac Cup will start from September 4 to September 21, 2025. Meanwhile, the second leg of the tournament will take place from September 26 to October 13 in Hanoi .
With this schedule, the National Women's Football Championship - Thai Son Bac Cup 2025 will start about 3 weeks after the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship ends. This helps clubs gather the strongest force when players return from the national team.
*Also at the ceremony, VFF announced the main sponsor of the tournament as Thai Son Bac Electrical Equipment Trading Company Limited. This is the 14th consecutive year that this enterprise has become the main sponsor of the National Women's Football Championship.
