Boeing announced on June 18 that it has appointed Ms. Penny Burtt as President in charge of business operations in Southeast Asia, effective July 3.
Ms. Burtt will be based in Boeing’s headquarters in Singapore, overseeing Boeing’s strategy and operations as the company expands its presence in the region. She will also assume the positions of General Manager of Boeing Singapore Pte. Ltd. and General Manager of PT. Boeing Indonesia.
Boeing has been working with stakeholders in Southeast Asia for more than 75 years to help build the region’s aerospace and defense capabilities. Boeing currently has offices in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. Southeast Asia is one of the world’s fastest-growing commercial aircraft markets, and the region’s defense needs are expanding and growing rapidly.
Prior to joining Boeing, Ms. Burtt led Public Policy and Government Affairs for Southeast Asia at Stripe, a financial infrastructure company. Prior to that, she was CEO of Asialink, Australia’s leading center for Asian research, and held leadership positions at Visa and McKinsey & Company for Asia. Additionally, Ms. Burtt served as a diplomat and worked in Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. She is currently a board member of the US-ASEAN Business Council.
