In his important speech at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sincerely thanked the Japanese Government and Prime Minister Kishida Fumio for their good sentiments, hospitality, and thoughtful organization and arrangements for the expanded G7 Summit.
The Prime Minister shared that the current unprecedented context requires actions beyond precedent with a global, all-people approach and upholding multilateralism; emphasizing the urgent need to promote and create new driving forces for global economic growth recovery and development in a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable direction.
The Prime Minister proposed the need to improve the effectiveness of global economic governance, strengthen policy coordination, especially in terms of interest rates, finance - currency, trade and investment, and reform the multilateral trading system with the central role of the WTO.

The Prime Minister welcomed the G7 initiative on the Global Partnership for Infrastructure and Investment (PGII); proposed that the G7 continue to support developing countries through providing green finance and cooperation in developing strategic infrastructure systems, especially in transport.
The Prime Minister delivered a message on promoting a more substantive and effective global partnership, emphasizing that promoting international solidarity and persistent multilateral cooperation are the keys to solving today's complex challenges. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that people are the center, driving force, subject, resource and goal of development.
In that spirit, the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam highly appreciated the Hiroshima Declaration of Action on global self-reliant food security; proposed that the G7 and partners step up opening agricultural markets, promote green agricultural cooperation, increase participation and support the implementation of South-South and trilateral cooperation mechanisms in ensuring global food security. The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is ready to boost food production to contribute to the implementation of the Hiroshima Declaration.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that determination and action on a global scale to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are more important than ever. In the spirit of leaving no one and no country behind, the Prime Minister called on G7 countries and development partners to have specific action plans, increase resource support to implement the SDGs, narrow the digital gap, master pioneering technology, ensure cross-border water security, enforce gender equality and build effective mechanisms to respond to future medical emergencies.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed that Vietnam always appreciates the practical and timely assistance of G7 countries and the international community in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and in post-pandemic socio-economic recovery and development. The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is always a proactive, active and responsible member of the international community and actively contributes to efforts to address common global challenges, for sustainable development, prosperity of humanity and happiness of the people.
At the meeting, G7 leaders and guests focused on discussing measures to strengthen cooperation, promote economic recovery and sustainable development.
Discussions emphasized that the world is facing many difficulties due to the impact of intertwined crises, including the risk of rising debt in many poor and developing countries, and increasing development gaps and inequality.
Opinions emphasized the need to put development at the center, strengthen resource mobilization initiatives, promote public-private partnership in infrastructure development, including implementing the G7's PGII initiative.
Leaders shared their views and proposed solutions to create new momentum for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, focusing on mobilizing private sector resources, strengthening development finance, reforming the global financial system, ensuring debt transparency, and continuing cooperation on health and gender equality.
The meeting endorsed the vigorous implementation of the Hiroshima Action Declaration on Global Self-Reliant Food Security initiated by Japan.
The G7 Summit is an important international forum, attended by leaders of the seven leading industrialized countries and prestigious countries and international organizations to discuss and promote cooperation in dealing with global issues.
This is the third time Vietnam has been invited to attend the G7 Summit in the past seven years. This reflects the recognition and positive evaluation by G7 countries and the international community of Vietnam's position, prestige, and efforts and positive, responsible contributions to promoting international cooperation in addressing global challenges in recent times./.
