Vietnam women's volleyball team did something unprecedented against Thailand
For the first time in history, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won 2 sets against Thailand on their home field, bringing much hope for the second leg of the SEA V-League at home.

The final match of stage 1 of SEA V-League 2025 between host Thailand and Vietnam was extremely exciting. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team prepared carefully for this match. The Vietnamese girls caused a surprise when they took a 1-0 lead with a score of 25/22. But then the home team equalized 1-1 (25/19). Bich Tuyen and Thanh Thuy are the athletes who scored the most points for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. After losing to Thailand in set 2, Thanh Thuy and her teammates regained their spirit in set 3. The two teams continued to chase each other and Vietnam was the one to end the set at the decisive moment to take the lead 2-1. Never before has the Vietnamese women's volleyball team been able to win 2 sets against Thailand on the opponent's field. Previously, the Vietnamese girls won 2 sets against the Golden Temple team but played at home, at SEA V-League 2024. Despite doing something unprecedented against Thailand, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team could not make history with an overall victory. Thailand equalized 2-2 then sealed the victory 3-2 (25/22, 19/25, 25/21, 17/25, 11/15). Once again, the Vietnamese girls lost to the Thais, accepting the 2nd place finish in the first round of SEA V-League 2025. The second round took place in Ninh Binh (Vietnam), from August 8-10. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team were determined to get revenge on their opponents.
