On August 4th, Meta, Facebook's parent company, launched its "Scam Detection 2025" campaign with the theme "Can You Believe This?".
This campaign focuses on raising awareness and equipping participants with the skills to identify seven common types of scams, including: text message scams, romance scams, investment scams, impersonation scams, online shopping scams, job scams, and account hijacking scams.
Specifically, Meta will collaborate with Eyeyah!, a visual arts-based educational platform, to introduce a game designed based on common scam scenarios, helping users improve their reflexes and analytical thinking skills, thereby enabling them to identify fraudulent situations.
The campaign also features the support of Vietnamese gaming content creators such as Mèo Simmy, Ngân Sát Thủ, Tùng Họa Mi, Hiếu LeBlanC, and iLoda.
According to Meta, since 2016, the company has invested more than $30 billion in personnel and technology to protect safety and security on its platform.

Meta has just launched the "Scam Identification 2025" campaign to equip people with the skills to identify current scam tactics.
In 2024 alone, Meta removed over 15,000 links containing fraudulent content in Vietnam and recently removed an additional 10 million accounts impersonating major content creators globally.
Also in 2024, Meta detected and disabled more than 7 million accounts linked to scam centers in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, the United Arab Emirates, and the Philippines.
In addition to dismantling phishing networks, Meta is also expanding its use of facial recognition technology to enhance the prevention of scams such as celebrity impersonation ads, and to help users recover access to hacked accounts.
Since February of this year, Meta has expanded its testing of facial recognition technology to detect and remove fake accounts that scammers might use.
"Through creative content and interactive games, this year's campaign will help users develop the habit of checking and thinking carefully before communicating and sharing information online. This is also how we realize Meta's long-term commitment to building a safe, trustworthy, and responsible digital environment in Vietnam," said Mr. Khoi Le, Country Director of Meta in Vietnam.
