Nun Bich Tram presents gifts to the people at Ngoc Duc Monastery.
On December 13th, at Ngoc Duc Monastery in Luong Son town, Bac Binh district (formerly Binh Thuan province), now part of Lam Dong province, the chilly atmosphere after days of rain and storms seemed to be warmed by a quiet yet profound act of kindness.
Artist couple Linh Tý and Bích Trâm have generously organized a program to distribute gifts and support to people in need after the floods and storms, sharing in some way the losses left behind by the natural disaster.

Without any ostentatious displays, the program was conducted in a measured and thoughtful manner. Over 400 gifts were distributed directly to residents through a voucher system over two sessions: 200 in the morning and 200 in the afternoon, ensuring order and making it more convenient for elderly and lonely residents to receive their gifts.
In addition to essential supplies, each needy household also received an extra 100,000 VND in cash, bringing the total amount of cash donated to 25 million VND.

The gifts may not be of great material value, but they contain a very genuine spirit of sharing. Artist Bich Tram shared: "In the context of the aftermath of the storms and floods, when many families are still struggling to repair their homes, damaged crops, and disrupted livelihoods, each gift we bring is meant to help people have more rice to cook meals and a little extra money to cover immediate needs. The scene this morning was very touching. We are grateful for the kindness of the nuns of Ngoc Duc Monastery, who have supported our team in doing good charitable work."
What is truly commendable is how the artist couple Linh Tý and Bích Trâm chose to position themselves as partners, rather than as "giver" of favors.
Without lengthy speeches or creating distance between the artists and the people, they quietly went from table to table, handing out gifts, inquiring about each other's health, and listening to the everyday stories of the people after the storm.

It was this closeness that made the gift-giving ceremony a warm gathering, where artists and the people shared a common sense of empathy. Linh Tý and Bích Trâm are known as artists deeply connected to the comedy stage, with many plays beloved by the public on the Saigon Theater and Quốc Thảo Theater stages.
In this charitable activity, they demonstrate another aspect of the artist: civic consciousness and social responsibility. When the spotlight fades, compassion takes center stage, as a natural part of genuine artistic life.
At Ngoc Duc Pagoda, many people could not hide their emotions. The simple words of gratitude are the clearest measure of the program's value, which lies not in the numbers, but in being timely, in the right place, and with the right heart.
"Amidst the overwhelming difficulties following the natural disaster, we hope that our fellow citizens will recover quickly and return to a better community life. The affection shown by our fellow citizens to my wife and me this morning has given us renewed motivation on our artistic journey," shared artist Linh Tý.
