On the evening of December 20th, at the Tan Son Nhat Ward Cultural Service Center, a Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) theatrical performance directed by Thanh Luu (a student of the late People's Artist Phung Ha), featuring performances by the Tan Son Nhat Ward Cai Luong Amateur Club, will be presented free of charge to theater-loving audiences.
The program, taking place at 6:30 PM, will serve the community and continue to vividly demonstrate the enduring vitality of Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) in grassroots cultural spaces – where the art is nurtured with love and dedication rather than the glitz and glamour of the spotlight.
Efforts to preserve the essence of Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera).
The program is structured harmoniously, connecting traditional folk songs, modern folk songs, and excerpts from classic Cai Luong operas, promising to create a seamless artistic flow that is both accessible and profound.

Artist Yen Khoa
Director Thanh Luu said that the program features outstanding performances: the traditional folk song "Spring Love," an excerpt from the Cai Luong opera "The Storm of Nguyen Phong" (by People's Artist Thanh Tong); excerpts from "Thunderstorm," "The Great Viet Proclamation," and "Chung Vo Diem and Lo Lam"... all of which require solid singing and acting techniques and the inner strength of the performing artist. Therefore, the club has been practicing diligently to achieve perfection in their performances."
In addition, modern folk songs such as "Moonlight Returning to the Countryside," "Truong Son East - Truong Son West," and "Welcoming Spring, Remembering Spring of Yesteryear" promise to bring a gentle, simple feel, blending into the rhythm of contemporary life.
In particular, the traditional song "Sorrowful Melodies" (composed by People's Artist Vien Chau) will evoke strong emotions due to the simple yet deeply heartfelt performance by the singer.
