BSR actively implements the STEM Innovation mission of Petrovietnam

(Chinhphu.vn) - Recently, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) has actively implemented activities of the Petrovietnam STEM Innovation program. With a specific and detailed implementation plan, 15 international standard STEM rooms sponsored by BSR in 5 provinces and cities will not only accompany the education sector in the digital transformation process, but also contribute to sowing the seeds of knowledge, creativity and technology for the young generation of Vietnam.

In addition to its production and business tasks, contributing to ensuring national energy security, BSR is actively implementing the STEM Innovation mission of Petrovietnam.

Realizing innovation strategy in education

Based on the idea of ​​General Secretary To Lam , the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group (Petrovietnam) has initiated the "STEM Innovation Petrovietnam" Program. The program was launched by the General Secretary, Prime Minister and other Party and State leaders at the 50th anniversary of Petrovietnam.

With the goal of building 100 international standard STEM rooms in 34 provinces and cities across the country, this is the largest scale educational project ever initiated by an enterprise, a strategic step of national importance in training human resources for science and technology, contributing to the formation of a new generation of energy-knowledgeable citizens of Vietnam.

To implement that orientation, BSR has actively implemented the program with a specific and detailed plan. Accordingly, BSR will sponsor the construction of 15 STEM rooms in 5 localities: Dien Bien, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai and Dak Lak. Each room is worth about 3.5 billion VND, including equipment systems, software, learning materials, furniture and teacher training costs.

The classrooms are designed according to international standards, with an area of ​​80-120m2 and are equipped with 86-inch interactive screen systems, laptops, 3D printers, CNC cutting machines, AI - IoT - robotics devices, and smart classroom simulation and management software.

In parallel with equipment sponsorship, BSR pays special attention to improving the capacity of the teaching staff. The company cooperates with Hanoi National University of Education, Hanoi National University and Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to organize intensive training courses, instruct teachers on the use of modern equipment, develop interdisciplinary lessons, organize scientific research projects and apply technology in teaching, thereby helping teachers master skills and spread STEM practical education methods locally.

After installation, the classrooms will join the Petrovietnam STEM Innovation network, connecting with schools nationwide, sharing teaching resources, and organizing online seminars. Then, they will gradually connect with STEM rooms around the world, helping students in many countries of the same age to exchange and share knowledge.

Investing in education is investing in the future.

Through STEM rooms, BSR and Petrovietnam not only help students access modern technology, but also inspire creativity, practice scientific thinking and pride in Vietnamese knowledge. Mr. Nguyen Cuu Huy, Principal of Tran Phu High School (Da Nang) said that the STEM education practice room is a valuable opportunity for students to learn and be creative in a highly interactive environment, helping to turn dry lessons into vivid experiences, arousing a passion for learning.

The viewpoint of "investing in education is investing in the future" is expressed by BSR throughout the process of implementing social security projects. A clear proof of this is that in more than 17 years of establishment and development, BSR has spent hundreds of billions of VND to build schools and sponsor educational programs across the country.
