Military Region's armed forces used armored vehicles to cross floods and deliver emergency food supplies to people.
On the morning of November 21, many areas in Tay Hoa, Dong Hoa, Tuy An Bac, Dong Xuan, Xuan Loc communes, Binh Kien ward ( Dak Lak province) were still submerged in floodwaters, completely cut off from the outside world. In the face of the emergency, Military Region 5 mobilized special forces and vehicles, using armored vehicles to cross the rapids, supplying thousands of essential goods to people in deeply flooded areas.
The working group, led by Colonel Cao Van Muoi, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, deployed 3 armored vehicles to transport more than 3,000 packages of goods, including instant noodles, dry food, drinking water and other essential necessities. The goods were deployed by Military Region 5 in coordination with the Dak Lak Provincial Civil Defense Command to promptly deliver to areas that have been isolated for many days (of which Military Region 5 supported 3 tons of dry food).
Along the road to the flooded area, the water flowed rapidly, many sections of the road were eroded and landslides were dangerous; however, with the determination of "not letting people go hungry, not leaving anyone behind", officers and soldiers of Military Region 5 still persevered in opening the road, approaching each isolated village and residential area.
Receiving the relief gift, Mr. Nguyen Han (84 years old, Binh Kien ward, Dak Lak province) was moved and said in tears: "I have lived most of my life, never seen such a big flood, such deep flooding. All the houses were submerged, luckily the army came to rescue and provide food, otherwise my whole family would not know how to manage."
Previously, the BB88 Regiment/Dak Lak Provincial Military Command organized the reception of relief goods and mobilized forces by motorboats and canoes to deeply flooded areas, helping hundreds of households escape isolation and food shortages.
Shipments of goods crossing the raging waters and soldiers clinging to the flood to help people in the past days have become a solid support for people in the flooded areas of Dak Lak. In difficult times, the relationship between the army and the people is even stronger, shining the "Serving the People" quality of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the midst of rising flood waters.
