- On November 21, in Tan Doan commune, the Department of Agriculture and Environment held a launching ceremony for the model "Market Day in communes and wards that do not use hard-to-decompose plastic bags and disposable plastic products". The event attracted nearly 1,000 delegates, including leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors, representatives of communes and wards, and a large number of local people.

The activity aims to call on the community to join hands in reducing plastic waste, building a green - clean - beautiful living environment, and gradually changing consumer habits, in line with the roadmap to limit single-use plastic products according to the Government 's policy.

At the launching ceremony, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment introduced the model of "Market Day without using hard-to-decompose plastic bags and disposable plastic products", focusing on 5 key contents: raising people's awareness of the harmful effects of plastic waste; encouraging people to bring cloth bags, plastic baskets, and personal water bottles when going to the market; mobilizing business households to prioritize the use of environmentally friendly packaging products; expanding the "green market" model to many communes and wards in the province; organizing general environmental cleaning activities, collecting and classifying waste right in the area.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment emphasized: The campaign aims at the participation of the whole society - from the government, businesses to each individual to gradually reduce and eventually end the use of disposable plastic products. This is also a concrete step to realize the goal of stopping the production and import of disposable plastic products and non-degradable plastic packaging by 2030, towards a sustainable Vietnam.

During the program, the Organizing Committee gave 500 cloth bags to people going to the market; and gave 6 "green houses" to some schools and villages in the commune to collect recyclable waste. Responding to the launching ceremony, people from 21/21 villages in Tan Doan commune simultaneously joined in cleaning the environment, collecting nearly 9 tons of waste in a day.
