Inspecting the poverty reduction program and new rural construction in Chau Son commune

- On the afternoon of November 21, a working delegation of the Department of Agriculture and Environment inspected and supervised the implementation of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the review of poor and near-poor households, the identification of agricultural, forestry and fishery households with average living standards and the National Target Program on New Rural Construction by 2025 in Chau Son commune.

According to the report of Chau Son Commune People's Committee, in recent times, the poverty reduction and new rural construction program in Chau Son Commune has continued to receive close attention and focused implementation. For the 2025 poverty reduction program, the Commune People's Committee has implemented projects and sub-projects related to: supporting production development to improve nutrition; communication and poverty reduction in information; capacity building and monitoring and evaluation of the program with a total allocated budget of 1.52 billion VND.

Members of the working group expressed their opinions at the inspection session.

For the new rural construction program, in 2025, the total capital to implement the program is nearly 2.2 billion VND. In which, the People's Committee of the commune assigned specialized agencies to implement projects and sub-projects related to: developing economic and social infrastructure; preserving and restoring traditional landscapes, increasing the rate of planting flowers and trees; installing security cameras... Up to now, the commune has achieved 16/19 new rural criteria.

Regarding the work of reviewing poor and near-poor households, identifying households working in agriculture, forestry and fishery with an average living standard in 2025, preliminary review results show that in Chau Son commune, there are 54/1,342 poor households, accounting for 4.02%; 60/1,342 near-poor households, accounting for 4.47%...

At the inspection session, delegates focused on discussing and evaluating the results achieved in implementing the poverty reduction program, building new rural areas as well as reviewing poor and near-poor households in Chau Son commune. At the same time, they pointed out the shortcomings and limitations, proposed solutions to overcome difficulties, and further improve the effectiveness of poverty reduction and building new rural areas in the coming time.
